Congratulations Mitch, Looks a very nice car. The handbrake on these cars is a weak design but can be improved with angled handbrake pads. Agree with Chris P that it might only be an adjustment need...

If I remember there is some wiggle room at the bottom of the door to bring that window down a couple inches... with the new motors, it can get very fiddly aligning it all up. Top Tip - Don't tighten ...

Could be wear in the distributor shaft making the rotor hit the dizzy cap contacts? That would speed up with rpm and get excessive under load.

I would say it's a coincidence and it's your fuel pump making a whine as it sits right underneath the boot latch.  Put some fresh petrol in and see if it goes away... might be low fuel level.  If not...
