help... still can't get that door panel off
Posted by: steve.s - 26 Feb 2007, 23:37 - Forum: 8 - Frame / Body / Interior - Replies (3)

hi

still can't get the inner handle removed.

there are two bolts. the left hand is easy.

the right is blocked by the inner door release bar (like thick coat hanger wire).

there must be an easier way surely. just can't get this panel off, and hence can't fix the elec window.
any tips!??    :x :?: Sad Sad

my door handle now works, but you need to push down about middle of the bottom of the glass to engage both sides.

  Biting the bullet
Posted by: Calavera - 25 Feb 2007, 20:43 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - Replies (18)

After much deliberation I have decided to bite the bullet and place an order with PJ Grady’s for a 1981, black interior, manual DeLorean!!
The delivery date is not till June; which it means March/April/May is going to be sooooo looooonnnnnngggg

I have read a lot of the posts on this forum and it has been a great source of information. If there are any other tips or advice you might have for a new owner I’d love to hear it.

Thanks

Richard H.

  Blower Fans
Posted by: Dan Howarth - 25 Feb 2007, 17:49 - Forum: 3 - Electrical - Replies (5)

Hi all, can anyone help me figure out what is wrong with my blower fans? Shock

No function on the switch and the fuse is ok! I have heard that there is a relay, is this a stock item? or a special order?

Is there any test that i can do to make sure that it is the relay that is the problem?

Any other suggestions?

Many Thanks,

I got my windscreen rebonded today and it looks superb.
I thought I'd share some pics of the job:
(Camera phone though)

I also sorted out half the garage too. Looking nice and bright now I've painted it bright white.

  Cooling Fans....
Posted by: TheOriginalMrP - 24 Feb 2007, 19:54 - Forum: 1 - Engine - Replies (15)

Hello all, me again.... I've got a snag maybe one of you could help with. I took BLM2Y nearly 200 miles today, and I noticed when on my way home the cooling fans were permanantly stuck on.... Whats the most likely cause of this....... ??? I know permanant fans is better than no fans at all, but them being on all the time seems stupid if this is just a sensor etc.... Just a few ideas, and where to look will be great.. She's going in for a service soon, so this can be done at the same time if I can get the part beforehand!!! Cheers all. Ben

  Oiling the fan
Posted by: dmcscott2002 - 24 Feb 2007, 19:08 - Forum: 7 - Heating / Air Conditioning - Replies (4)

Hey Everyone

Every time I turn on the heating/air con fan there's an extreemly unpleasent loud screeching sound coming from the fan. I'm going to try to aid it by taking opening up the fan casing (under passenger side of the dash) and giving the fan bearings a good dose of WD40 and or grease depending on what seems to work best. Is there anything I should look out for when doing this or is it fairly straight forward to assemble/reassemble the casing?

Cheers!

  bye bye GLi..... :(

well.......the poor old scrap Cav is no more...the automotive version of the grim reaper came along yesterday and took her away (free of charge though!!)
On a more serious note though, if anyone in the Derbyshire area does need a scrap car or van collecting, this guy comes out and picks cars up free of charge (he's based near Buxton, which is about 20 miles from here). Call PK Heathcote Ltd, on 01298 24219 or 07768 568757. He's a registered vehicle carrier and also sorts the V5 out properly too.

  PJ Grady's Latest Arrival
Posted by: PJ Grady (Europe) - 23 Feb 2007, 15:06 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (3)

Sadly - it's not another DeLorean...

My business partner Darren has just got back from the hospital - with a new baby girl! Caitlin is 7lbs 10oz - and everything is good.

And, as I'm his brother in law - that makes me an uncle again!

If anyone is waiting on Darren for any emails, etc - I'll be picking them up...but it'll take me a while to work through the pile!

Thanks guys

  Fascia Repair
Posted by: PJ Grady (Europe) - 23 Feb 2007, 14:55 - Forum: 8 - Frame / Body / Interior - Replies (1)

Hello all,

Apologies for the shameless plug - but it seems everyone is busy fixing their cars up for summer - and I've had lots and lots of requests this week for fascias and fascia repairs.

I've recently done some repairs to a badly warped rear fascia for a DOC member - and I've added a quick overview to the website.

http://www.pjgrady.co.uk//GenericConten ... epair.html

Enjoy! There's also a 'How To' on fascia painting on there somewhere...

Chris
