  ouch, the door got me!
Posted by: steve.s - 20 Feb 2007, 01:51 - Forum: 8 - Frame / Body / Interior - Replies (1)

hi

done that thing that must happen to all d owners working on the inner door.

took my new door handle off, and the cable disappeared down the hole.

poke fingers in to find...ouch got cut on the stainless!.
good job i love this car...not even a swear word!.

anyway took handle and refitted. when loose the door shut and engaged fine.
great tighten up....then door now does not latch!. back off again next time.

i did get one nut off the inner door handle...one to go but its blocked by a inner release bar.

trying now to fit the window regulator, guess i'll order some chainmail gloves.
i'm so short of time that i worked 20mins in my lunch hour, 20 mins there, 20mins back.
is that dedication

Hello

Anybody been to Beaulieu motor museum recently? They say on their site that they've got an 82 DMC12.

Well, my father took this photo:

in 1984 (or so) he says I was two at the time...

Any ideas on the VIN/history of the car? I could e-mail them, but seeing as you're all here...

Warning - con-man doing the rounds
Posted by: Rottbott - 19 Feb 2007, 17:34 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (7)

I've been given a warning by a friend in a different car club, apparently this guy has been going round various club forums making a post along the lines of "the missus has spoken", offering to sell various parts. Payment is requested by PayPal and then of course the parts never show up.

Hopefully just having this warning here would put him off, but if anyone does try it on these forums, be careful.

Right Hand Drive DeLorean recently sold
Posted by: Jonny Jones - 17 Feb 2007, 22:23 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (2)

Hi everybody. Talking to a girl I know on MSN tonight and she said her Mum, who owned a RHD DeLorean, recently sold it for around £20k. Just posting to see if anybody knows anything about it, the new owner or anything? I asked her where her Mum lived and she simply said 'somewhere up North' - so yeah, anybody know anything? Apparently her Mum sold it as the kids in her area were beating the car's panels - how harsh, sounds like its the kids that needed a hiding! :x

Also, apparently the person who bought it, their surname is something like Renoyld? - Maybe Reynold?

EDIT - Apparently the guy who bought it was looking for a 'crap' car to do up and sell on for a profit... who buys a 20k DeLorean and considers it a 'crap' car?! Shock

  Clutch Slave Cylinder for sale
Posted by: Guinney1971 - 16 Feb 2007, 22:37 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - No Replies

Hi All,

if anyone needs a clutch slave cylinder, I have one new in box that I bought for Flopsy but ended up not needing.

It owes me £63, and I can either post it out at cost or it can be collected from me at home or a meet up. Reply on here or PM me if you are interested Smile

If no one wants it, I'll probably stick it on ebay... (although it will be sods law that as soon as I sell it I'll need one  )

Cheers,

  Fuel Pipe
Posted by: Bandit - 14 Feb 2007, 15:47 - Forum: 2 - Emission / Fuel Systems - Replies (4)

Can anyone give me some advise on the fuel pipe. Mine is in very poor condition at the back, in fact as soon as I messed with it pin holes appeared, so I,m gonna swap it.
It looks as though it runs along the chassis, but it goes out of sight because of the underbody, has anyone removed one, before I start rippin' the thing to bits.
