DeLorean wanted for music video, Birmingham 21 or 28th June
Posted by: Chris Williams - 02 Jun 2015, 20:41 - Forum: TV/Film Hire and Work Requests - No Replies

Hello,

I'm a filmmaker from Birmingham and have been asked to make a Back to the Future theme music video for the band Burn Down Rydell and I am currently trying to track down a Delorean to use for the shoot.

I am writing to ask if you know anyone in the Birmingham area who owns a Delorean and might be willing to let us use it in the video. We require the car on the evening of either Sunday the 21st or 28th of June. Filming will take place in Sutton Coldfield Birmingham and we would be for several hours. The shots we require are:

Several static shots with fake smoke around the car.

Several driving shots (Driving away from camera, towards camera)

The band sitting inside appearing as if they are driving.

The band getting out of the car.

Several insert shots – wheels, steering wheel, details on the car etc

We are fully insured and no one but the owner would drive the car. We would credit the owner at the end of the video and could even have part in the film if they wish.

If you know of anyone I would really appreciate it if you could pass on my details (E-mail/Phone) as having an actually Delorean in the video will make it something really special.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Oliver Jones

Thanks.

Hey there DOC nation! Greetings from Ireland.
I'm not going to do the whole life story thing but I'm 33 and a life long fan of "those" movies and this car.
I'm now starting a new chapter in my life and have set myself two goals.

1: Become a successful working actor (I've been acting only 16 months and have just completed my first lead role in a feature film and my first stint on a tv show over here)

2: Own a Delorean!

For obvious reasons one kind of has a big bearing on the other but I am sure I can achieve both and thought what better place to begin the journey on no.2 than here where the people who love these cars the most, hang out.

Looking forward to getting to know every one of you.

Philip

  Newbie from Birmingham
Posted by: sws1 - 30 May 2015, 23:45 - Forum: New member? Say hello :) - Replies (7)

Hi, newbie from Birmingham, UK and lifelong fan of the Delorean. I've been looking for one for years but never been financially in the position until recently. I've scoured the usual places and done some research but everything I find is in mint condition. I'm looking for a driveable car that needs a little tlc and considering importing one from the U.S.

Any help would be appreciated, especially when it comes to what to avoid.

Thanks in advance

Scott

Anyone interested in coming along to this? The Vulcan Bomber will be making taxi runs as well as the Spitfire doing fly by's and lots of other classic motor vehicles to be seen on the day.

I'm considering going along in LEX. Be nice to have some familiar faces around too.

Ticket entries are free before this Saturday (30th May) or £5 per car entry (which allows for 2 persons) if booked later.

DeLorean required for Liverpool City Cavalcade 4th July 2015
Posted by: Chris Williams - 28 May 2015, 07:50 - Forum: Midlands - No Replies

I’m writing to you about a forthcoming event we are hosting; the Transatlantic 175th Classic Car Cavalcade in Liverpool, as part of Cunard’s 175th anniversary celebrations. There are two parts to the event; a display on the Albert Dock as part of the Vintage festival on Saturday 4th July, (limited to sixty places), and a classic car & motorbike cavalcade which will take place on Sunday 5th July and will pass right through the heart of the city. This will be strictly limited to 175 places.

We are looking for all marques and ages (Veteran to Classic up to the 1980’s) with an emphasis on British and American vehicles to tie in with our transatlantic theme. We welcome all exceptional well kept vehicles and those that are unique and have special stories to tell, but specifically, I am looking for a Delorean to take part in the Cavalcade. Is there any way you can promote this to your members?

I attach a press release for your interest, and a “FAQ”s document which will give you further information.

All applications must be made online by filling in your details on this link here:
https://www.cultureliverpool.co.uk/one- ... cavalcade/

Upon submission of your details you will receive a confirmation email, and final notification by the end of May. For those that require a hard copy application form, please email by return and I will post one out to you. And do feel free to contact me should you have further queries.

Looking forward to welcoming you to the show.

Very best,

New member and would like to meet an owner - North West
Posted by: geelordy - 27 May 2015, 21:51 - Forum: New member? Say hello :) - Replies (3)

Hi, I am a new member and this is my first post. Hello everyone.

I do not own a Delorean yet but am currently looking to buy one. I am thinking of bringing one from the USA as there are more available over there and they are slightly cheaper when they do come available.

I live in the North West , Warrington near Manchester and was wondering if I could meet someone who lives fairly locally and who owns a Delorean in order to discus one or two things about buying one of these cars and ask for any advice in general. I have bought the publication 'The Illustrated Buyer's Guide to Delorean Automobiles' which is very good but other than that I have no experience of buying one.

If anyone has experienced bringing a car from USA then I would be grateful to learn from your experience.

Thanks

Grant

HotWheels special DeLorean secret Treasure Hunt model!
Posted by: bjbrownie - 26 May 2015, 12:33 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (7)

Released in the 2015 HotWheels Collection is this DeLorean DMC 12, what's is unusual is as well as special rubber wheels the paint scheme is based on an earlier 1980s release named 'Turismo' which looks very similar to the DeLorean but due to patents, licensing etc could not be named DeLorean, but there's no doubt where the inspiration for this diecast came from!
Well worth keeping an eye open for this special car,and it will be well sought after. 8)

Prestatyn Classic Car Show,Bank Holiday Monday,25th May 2015
Posted by: bjbrownie - 26 May 2015, 07:56 - Forum: Wales - Replies (3)

i haven't been here for a few years, holidays etc kept me away, but a brilliant turnout of vehicles all well looked after and shining even in the overcast gloom of the Bank Holiday, the sun made an appearance later in the afternoon-people wore coats and gloves in the morning,it was that cold!
Loads of 80s & 90s cars, with the majority being 1950-60 vehicles, a few rarities including a Trabant and a rare Audi Estate with Quattro fitted ( surprised to see a diff lock switch fitted) which was immaculate and the owner had picked up very cheaply.
The DMC had a good time, attracting people even though it was parked up away in a far corner-still amazes me when folk say they've never seen one in the steel before-the mint red Metro I was parked next to was probably rarer than the DeLorean!
A good day, great talking to people, dispelling a few myths and bracing myself for the "Where's the Flux Capacitor, then?"
quips......... Love it Smile
