New Style Ottersat Replacement Part Available To Order
Posted by: DMCDELLBOY - 14 Jul 2015, 19:10 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (64)

been having problems with fans not cutting in when engine runs over normal, when two wires are joined together from otterstat fans will run meaning otterstat failure, new otterstat fitted after tested in boiling water, , fitted to car run to temp ,fans will not run ,replaced with another otterstat, run to over temp ,still no fans, after several attempts of trying different possibilities still no result, so Dickie H was contacted and came over about 5 30 last night to help me resolve the problem after hours of testing electrical and water flow he finally figured out the problem, the spring clip which holds the otterstat in place was putting to much pressure on it ,stopping it making a circuit. So just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU RICHARD for sorting out the problem for me hope you got home safe after leaving at 12 45 am hope you were,nt late for work this morning

  [WTS] Stainless UK Exhaust System
Posted by: BABIS - 13 Jul 2015, 22:31 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (3)

Hello guys,

I am considering selling my stainless UK exhaust which I previously bought from http://www.stainless-exhaust.com/
the reason why I am trying to sell it is that I want to upgrade my "WIP" efi setup with a turbo.

I have the fully polished version and it's in quite in brand new condition since I have used it just for map tuning (inside a workshop) and on the road for about 1-2 kms. I have packed the headers and the "middle pipes" with fiberglass heat wraps and stainless clamps (now I can touch the headers avoiding the skin to melt!)

last year these exhaust were sold from the manufacturer for £978 including vat plus £60 for the polished version

Please send me a PM if you are interested

Best regards

BTTF Day Delorean Hire - Wrexham
Posted by: nickg - 12 Jul 2015, 12:00 - Forum: TV/Film Hire and Work Requests - Replies (4)

Hi Smile

I'm hoping to put on a charity event at my local FE college on BTTF Day (Oct 21st 2015 - which I'm sure you all know!!), to raise money for the college charity. For 2015/16, this is MacMillan Cancer Support.

Is there anyone nearby that would consider bringing their Delorean to the college for the day, and, as it is for charity, for a reduced cost? I understand that there will likely be costs that you cannot avoid but we can keep you in tea/coffee for the day and provide lunch for you as well.

If it takes off, I am hoping that there will be other events such as a screening of BTTF, BTTF fancy dress, cake making and so on.

Anyway, fingers crossed that someone can help.

Thank you

Wanted: Part 102392 - CAP, TAMPER RESISTANT
Posted by: OllieWilks - 09 Jul 2015, 12:20 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (5)

Hi All,

I'm looking for a very small, seemingly out of stock part.
Its part no:102392 described as CAP, TAMPER RESISTANT on DeLorean.com

It's essentially a bung for the allen key hole that adjusts the fuel/air ratio for the fuel injection.

Has anyone got any suggests or a cross ref for the part?

Many Thanks

Ollie

  Severn Princess
Posted by: Matt Clark - 08 Jul 2015, 23:25 - Forum: Historical DeLorean articles, references, photos and information. - Replies (2)

Some of you may remember this page from waaaaaay back in the early days of the internet - a former car ferry called the Severn Princess was used to dump the body panel tooling/dies into the ocean after they were sold for scrap:

http://dmcnews.com/Resource/bodydies/bodydies.html

I was at that DeLorean gallery installation the other week and it mentioned that the Severn Princess was being kept in Chepstow, which is on my drive home, so we went to find it (which was easy enough, it's pretty big).

...not really anything interesting to say about it, but neat to see, and funny how it feels like you can be anywhere in the UK and there's always something DeLorean-related around. I know some people think that the dumping of the tooling was part of the "kill DMC" conspiracy, but it did mean very little chance of the company being started again because of the huge financial cost of those panel moulds.

Emmissions high and stalling at lights
Posted by: TheScAtMaN - 07 Jul 2015, 10:16 - Forum: 2 - Emission / Fuel Systems - Replies (6)

Hi guys

Had my D MOT'd last week and she passed on everything but when it came to the emissions test it was above 4.1 and should have failed. My friendly MOT guy pulled it out at the last minute (ohh err) and let it pass but in reality it shouldn't. Last year she was fine.
I have not made any modifications in that area but I am still running with it's original CAT.

On a possibly related note, when I slow down quickly for roundabouts/lights etc she often struggles to maintain revs and stalls.
I assume I have some timing and mixture problem but am wary of messing with it myself in case I make things worse!

any DMC owners near Cardiff - advice wanted
Posted by: SpudMurphy - 03 Jul 2015, 14:28 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - Replies (8)

I have the excellent book by James Espey on buying a used D.

I've summarized all the salient points and am in the process of creating a spreadsheet that will help me when I look over potential purchases (in the UK/USA)

Is there anybody near to me with a D that I could touch base with and look over their car so I can "acclimatize" myself to looking over a D?

Cheers
