Big Grin [FOR SALE] Updated DeLorean Dealership Poster
Posted by: mikebabb - 03 Oct 2016, 18:10 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (5)

Good day all!

I hope that this is OK to post here.  With the 35th anniversary of the DeLorean starting production this year, I have been working on an updated version of the original DeLorean Dealership poster, and am now offering that for sale.  It is a limited edition run of only 50 prints, which are signed, dated and include a Certificate of Authenticity.

I am based in the US, and unfortunately it looks like shipping to the UK is pretty insanely expensive - but if there are a few folks that want to order and ship together, I should be able to keep those costs to a minimum.

1/2 of all of the profits that I make off of these sales is going to a US based owner who just lost 2 DeLoreans and part of their house to a fire.

Poster cost - $75.00, and includes shipping in the US (I know, probably does not count for most folks that would be reading this).

Here is what the original - and now very hard to find poster looks like:

the original poster is a massive 40" wide by 60" tall (~1 m wide by 1.5 m tall).

the updated poster is 3/4 the originals size, at 30" wide by 45" tall.  It is still pretty massive, and with a 200DPI source image is crystal clear and sharp at that size. Here are 6 of them laid out on a table in my home:

Posters are printed by a professional poster printing company and are shipped rolled, wrapped in shipping paper, and in a thick cardboard tube to help protect them.

Additional images showing  the Certificate of Authenticity, and digital images showing a low-resolution picture of the entire poster, and full-resolution sections of different parts of the poster to highlight quality and details:

  #2292 New engine
Posted by: Guinney1971 - 02 Oct 2016, 22:24 - Forum: Members Cars - Replies (109)

As some of you may know, #2292 finally spat her dummy out good and proper 2 days before the DOC-UK meet up in Northamtonshire
and the engine suffered 'block rot' and spewed oil everywhere.  Luckilly the engine still runs (if you put more oil in it) so its not seized.

However, its not the car's original engine, having been changed around 1990 in the USA.  It had significant work in 2003 and 2006, but
has never been satisfactory, and I've always had in the back of my mind what I'd replace it with.

With the current situation, I'm now ideally placed to move the engine idea forward.

I need to retain the UN1 gearbox, so I know that I will need an adaptor plate for a replacement unit.  Ideally, I'll buy a complete donor
car so that I have the ECU, etc to make the swap 'easier'.

We are quite keen on a later Renault/Peugeot 24v engine, from say a 406 Coupe or a Laguna, and having been given measurements of the
Renault unit, we are pretty sure it'll fit.  However, today at a car show, I was hanging my nose over the engine of a Rover P6 3500 V8.  Got
chatting to the owner who said that if the LS1 fits in a DeLorean (a common swap in the US apparently), then the Rover V8 would, and suggested
the 3.9 with EFI from a Ranger Rover or Discovery.  Hmmmmm, it'll certainly sound nice..... but seriously, will a Range Rover V8 fit in a DeLorean?

Any other thoughts are of course gratefully received.  We are working to a very tight budget, as we also need to repair the chassis on the car whilst the
engine is out (frame sep whilst we're in there) as it has quite a bit of rot and is like 'weetabix' in the rear box section.

Ah, its all fun & games !!

  Wedding northwest 2018
Posted by: Bridetobe - 01 Oct 2016, 09:21 - Forum: Northern England - Replies (1)

Hi I'm getting married in 2018 I know it's a way off yet but I'd really like my husband to be to arrive at his wedding in a delorean. We're based in Preston but getting married in Kendal and wedding possibly around the Lancaster area. Would there be anyone that could help and give me a very rough price as to how much you would charge for say 3-4 hours? Of course I know it may change a little once things are more organised.

After renewing the entire contents of my heater box, it was confirmed today my job was a complete success.
The system held pressure, filled with 950g of R134a plus oil and dye.

Aircon now works better than it ever did.

Well chuffed!
