Hi Everyone,

I am in conversation with the event organisers to have a Delorean Stand at Carfest North & South in aid of BBC Children in Need again this year. [Image: icon_e_biggrin.gif]

Dates are

North 28th-30th July

South 25th-27th August

The momentum is starting with some great bands booked (many more yet to be announced) to play this year, and last year was the best to date; this year they plan on being better still [Image: dance.gif]

Please let me know if you would like to attend, so if you've seen the previous years threads and thought maybe you'd fancy it, why not make it along this year [Image: icon_e_wink.gif]
Same format as in recent years.

This years website is up and running
http://www.carfest.org/welcome/welcome-to-carfest-north

Regards
Darren

It's going to be a great show again! [Image: icon_e_biggrin.gif]

  DeLorean News Issue 75

Pleased to say Issue 75 of DeLorean News was posted out yesterday. A couple of weeks late I'm afraid due to personal circumstances but hopefully we should be back on track soon. A huge thank you to Eddie (as ever) for putting this together.

Classic Car Show/Boot Sale. Kings Cross. 22/23 April 2017
Posted by: Chris Williams - 01 Apr 2017, 17:56 - Forum: London - No Replies

Good afternoon Dave,

I've been appointed the position of guest vehicle curator at the Classic Car Boot Sale – Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April 2017. This event, along with many others, is the brainchild of Wayne Hemingway MBE. In 2010 I worked alongside Wayne and his team, in a similar role, at the hugely successful festival Vintage at Goodwood. The well established Classic Car Boot Sale has outgrown the space on London’s South Bank. Therefore, for the third year, it’s stretching its wings at the ample space in and surrounding Lewis Cubitt Square at King's Cross.

The term Car Boot Sale is an umbrella title for what is a family-friendly celebration of all things vintage, collectible and up-cycled. Vintage Festival DJs play a vinyl-only selection of 40s-80s tunes and aside from perusing the stalls, there are plenty of opportunities to dine, drink and dance. Once again the festival will be linked with BOB (Best of Britannia) – another well established event that showcases the best of British manufacturing and products.

I’m very much hoping you can assist by suggesting DeLorean Club Members who could attend with their vehicles, so they can be amongst the attractions for tens of thousands of appreciative design conscious people. For those attending in a display capacity the entry fee is waved and of course you can promote your club.

Please do take a look at the link below and either way reply showing your interest or not. Or if you’d prefer to chat on the phone, do let me have a contact number and a suitable time to call.

www.classiccarbootsale.co.uk

I do hope you can give it some serious consideration.

Best regards

Chris Haddon

Warren Classic & Supercar Show, Nr Maldon Essex. 23 Sept 2017
Posted by: Chris Williams - 01 Apr 2017, 17:52 - Forum: South East - No Replies

Back for 2017, after another successful show in 2016, The Warren Classic and Supercar Show will take place on Sunday 24th September 2017. We will also be running the Warren Classic Tour again on the Saturday the 23rd September. This was a great success last year but is limited to 50 cars so if you are interested in joining the tour please contact me in order to secure your place. Further details for the tour will be announced soon!

The Warren Classic and Concours firmly established itself in 2013 as one of the key events on Essex’s summer social calendar and was the opening event of the annual round of classic car concours. The event attracted thousands of visitors to a celebration of classic and supercars at The Warren Golf & Country Club near Maldon.

In 2014, The Warren Classic and Concours offered visitors the opportunity to see some of the finest classic and contemporary supercars in the world, all gathered together at Essex’s most prestigious classic and supercar event. The highlight of the show was The Warren Concours d’Elegance where the finest classic cars were judged by an expert panel.

This year, the overall Best of Show winner will be invited to display their car at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall for the following week…this is a very exclusive invitation and a great honour.

In addition to the Concours are the drive in classic cars brought to the event by local enthusiasts and alongside the classic cars are the supercars which included the most powerful car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron.

We have chosen a few different classes for this year and I've listed these below:

American Sports
The Great British Marques
Ferrari Racing
Ferrari Grand Touring
Alfa Romeo
Jaguar
Pre-war Touring
Coachbuilders Art
Prototypes and Unique Motorcars
Veterans
Supercars
Motorcycles

As in previous years, we will be giving precedence to cars that have not been to the Concours before. If you would like more information please take a look at the web site: www.warrenclassic.co.uk or of course email or call me.

As always, if you know anyone with an interesting car who has not been to the Warren Classic before or see any great cars (or indeed motorcycles for this year) that would be a good fit for the Warren Concours, please let the owner know and feel free to pass on my contact details.

One more thing…if you or your company would be interested in becoming a sponsor for this year, we are offering several different hospitality packages and marketing opportunities. Please email me for further details.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards
Nic

Car Show & Fun Day Croydon 25th June 2017
Posted by: Chris Williams - 01 Apr 2017, 17:46 - Forum: Southern England - No Replies

Dear Enthusiast

We have started to organise the 2017 Classic Car Show and are hoping that you would like to come along and exhibit your vehicle.  Unfortunately we had to cancel last year because of the weather but this year we will go ahead no matter what.  In the past we havme had over 100 vehicles so we are hoping to have a similarly successful show this year.

As before, there is a small entrance fee of £5 but all profit goes to charity so we hope you will find this acceptable.  For your £5, you and your passenger get entrance to the Show and an allocated parking spot.

Attached is a Flyer giving details of the show plus an Entry Form.  If you are interested in exhibiting your vehicle please fill in the form and send it back to me with your fiver (cash or cheque made out to the Rotary Club of Croydon Whitgift).

We intend holding the mid-morning and mid-afternoon vehicle parade again this year with a commentary.  If you could let the commentator have any brief interesting facts about your vehicle (owned by someone famous, only one of 6 made, 0 to 60 in 4 seconds, etc) it would help to make the commentary more interesting.

We were just up to our vehicle capacity at the last show and some of the late comers didn’t get a spot, so it would be sensible to get your forms back to me as soon as possible.

We raised just short of £5000 for local charities when we last held the show and this was only possible because of you.  We are very grateful for your help.

I look forward to receiving your forms shortly and look forward to seeing you and your vehicle at the show.

All the best
