Hi Guys
my hunt for my D project goes on after coming close (US ebay) a couple of times...
anyway i am presently restoring an E21 Baur BMW....and i need to paint the plastic external trim (someone has painted the grille horrible body colour!)
so, for this and when i get my D, what have you all used to paint plastic trim to make it look factory finish...
i think Chris N did my last D and not sure what he used for bumper.
so going to rub down old paint, scotch brite it and body whipe it clean....then either primer and paint or just the paint if it does not need primer, but not sure what to use yet.
have heard the halfords bumper paint is now not very good after a formula change..
any ideas?.
and do you guys still use a grey interior paint on your faded D?.
thank you for any help.
steve

Morning all,
My name is Alistair and I am a DeLorean enthusiast, sadly not an owner.
I am a Derbyshire lad but crossed over to the dark side when I married. So I now live in Nottingham with my wife and 2 children, 11 and 3 years of age. I'm soon to be moving to a bigger house with a double garage. I may not have the money for a DeLorean but at least I have the garage!
It's the Back to the Future films that bought my interest in the car. I love them as they were part of my younger years, but it's the car itself that always made me sit up with interest.
I started working for IKEA - Nottingham around 1995. I was part of the home delivery team and it was on my travels that I saw my first DeLorean with my own eyes. It was Richards, parked on the roadside in Heanor. I've past by Richards house so many times since and I've always looked for that car and I'm still blown away.
A few years ago, whilst working in Derby, I refuelled at Markeaton Island when a DeLorean pulled in. The whole forecourt came to a stop to admire the car. I recall the gentleman going into pay for the fuel wearing a 88mph t-shirt. In my ignorance I thought this was the car from Heanor. Only recently (after watching 'For the love of Cars) did I realise it was Chris and there was another DeLorean so near.
And after joining the club I learn of another car in Brinsley! Amazed by the local love of this amazing, mind blowing car.
I am really looking forward to hearing your stories and learning all I can (if you would be so kind), and maybe one day owning my own car. It is a dream.....
Alistair.

Wessex Truck Show, Yeovil, Somerset Aug 12-13th |

Hi,
I have recently been approached by the team running Wessex Truck Show in Yeovil, Somerset after seeing a colleague and my Delorean at a local classic car show. They try and show one type/make of car at the Lorry/truck show each year and would love to have the Delorean there. Ideally they would like more than just the two of us so thought I would put it out to all in the club to see if anyone would like to join the two of us? Entry is free and camping is available. All they ask is we are there for both days (Sat 9-5, sun 9-3:30). If anyone would like to commit then please contact me on either 07866430904 or phil_burningham@hotmail.com.
Many thanks
Phil

Limited Time - Limited Quantities
For DeLorean Club Members Only
Our Historical Courtroom Art Division is closing-out our inventory of courtroom sketches seen on the NBC-TV network during coverage of the 1984 trial of John DeLorean stemming from an FBI “sting” operation. You’ll recall the automotive genius “beat the rap” as the news media say, and was found Not Guilty on all charges.
Cameras are not allowed in U.S. Courtrooms, but sketch artists are and award-winning artist Walter Stewart covered every day of the FBI’s effort to trap Mr. DeLorean. Mr. Stewart’s superb drawings were viewed daily by millions via NBC-TV in the U.S. and portions of Canada.
When Mr. Stewart died in 2002, the bulk of his courtroom drawings were donated to the Bancroft Library, University of California-Berkeley – but did not include these 4 sketches. (See Attachment)
A Little Background
Walt Stewart and I were personal friends and co-workers for many years in TV News Departments, first at the ABC then the NBC station in San Francisco. We often talked about collaborating on a book featuring his art because his skills were exceptional, and powerfully moving.
We will decide disposition of the originals later this year. For now our goal is to ensure remaining inventory goes to owners of a DeLorean who can now more easily afford a set of these historically-significant prints.
The original price for each print was $90 (USD). Now, through your clubs, we’re trying to ensure DeLorean Owners only are invited to purchase 2 of the 4 prints for $75 each and receive the other two prints FREE, no strings. This offer reduces the cost of each of these rare prints to $37.50 each!
That’s how Walt Stewart did business: By making his work available to appropriate audience at reasonable cost, not “Art Collector” prices. The prints are 11 x 14 inches, printed on museum-quality, acid-free paper, the size of his actual drawings. Please note: Prints labeled A1 and B1 are the sale prints, A2 and B2 are the Free Prints. No other combination is available for this one-time-only offer. After this sale, we will remove all DeLorean prints from our catalog.
Also, we’d like you to know that no other entity is presently or ever will be contacted with regard to this unique sale of these DeLorean historic prints. This offer is valid until midnight August 25, 2017. (Date extended one week.)
Have questions? Please contact me at the e-mail address below. I am presently working at home through August due to a health issue, but I guarantee your queries will receive a prompt response.
I know Walt Stewart would have endorsed this generous offer in order that owners may honor and enjoy the remarkable John DeLorean, father of one of the world’s great automobiles, during a harsh-but-victorious highlight in his fascinating life.
SPECIAL NOTE !
In a recent survey of purchasers of our Courtroom Art indicated they preferred smaller prints in order to “group them” on their wall, “Mostly,” they replied, “to facilitate story-telling.” We are happy to oblige and apologize for our previous error. JWS

Has anyone else been hit by photobucket pulling the plug on all free 3rd party hosting, I lost all my pics on another forum where all the images were hosted by photobucket, they asked me to upgrade, when I went on the site they wanted $399 a year to upgrade, obviously I have not going to do that, they still hold my images but have stopped them being shown. Could anyone sugest another hosting site even though it's going to be a lot of work to change over.
