Thumbs Up Seats restored.....
Posted by: TristanC - 05 Sep 2018, 19:00 - Forum: 8 - Frame / Body / Interior - Replies (16)

I had a local leather restorer sort my seats out and I’ve just picked them up.
I’m really rather pleased with the results.

I could have recovered them, but I really wanted to keep as many original parts from 1982 as possible.

So for £150, here are some shots of the before and after.......

Hi all was watching Beverly hills cop this evening and a dmc was present but it had different headlights so I was wondering if anyone had any idea as to what is being used for its headlights.
Best photo I could get of the car

  Automatic vs Manual Transmission
Posted by: MrToast - 30 Aug 2018, 16:32 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - Replies (3)

Does anyone have experience of both an automatic and a manual DeLorean?

I believe manual is more desirable and wondered why.  Are there any stand out differences (except the obvious!) E.g  does one have poorer performance, more problems etc than the other.

E10 fuel to replace E5 in the UK proposal
Posted by: Rissy - 30 Aug 2018, 13:02 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (1)

I've just been reading this:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/cars/ar...duced.html

Although i think this proposed move could cause some real headaches for other cars (my M3 for one!, probably also my Civic!), I'm not sure if that means much for our D's or not since they were originally spec'd to run on really low US Octane fuel.  Am i right?

This move, if it goes forward, means that as soon as another couple of years, we could see the disappearance of super fuels in the UK, and our good old traditional RON 95 fuel being replaced by a new "cleaner" standard minimum, which *seems* to be a proposed equivalent to around about a 90 RON fuel.  If so, and considering i think the D' is spec'd to be a minimum of 91 RON (i think), does that mean a headache for our D's too?

Hey all - are there any plans for the club to go back to the NEC Classic Motor Show this year?

Sorry if this has already been brought up - I just got an email about the event so thought I'd post

Cheers!

  Hello all!

Hi all,

I’m a new member to the club. Ive been a delorean fan since I was a kid having grown up only a few minutes from the Dunmurry factory. I don’t yet have a Delorean but I do plan on buying one.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to spending some time on the site and getting to know everyone.

  VIN 4400
Posted by: Pikey07 - 26 Aug 2018, 20:27 - Forum: Members Cars - Replies (5)

So I joined the forum a few years ago and spent quite a lot of time just lurking in the background, reading the posts but not getting involved. I then became a paid up member so I could get the magazine and keep an eye out for a potential purchase. In the year that I was an official member I helped out at the Manchester Classic and also the NEC. Got to know Chris Williams and Chris Parnham and felt that my involvement with Deloreans has been greater in the last year of my life than it has the previous 29 years.

So I felt happy enough with how things were going, until I came across the sales ad for VIN 4400 on the Eurotech forum. (Wasn't actually a member, just a google result). Did a bit of background research on the car, found its got quite a lot of history, (as i'm sure a lot of members will be aware of) so I decided now was a good a time as any to finally become an owner and boom, Car Delivered to me the day before my 30th Birthday. I couldn't be happier.

Turns out I live very close to Mr Williams' mother, so he swung by the other day to give it the once over. I'm sure i'll be taking full advantage of his technical knowledge in the future to the point he blocks my number. Big Grin

But yeah that's my story.
