Toby Peterson (DPNW / DMCNW) has just posted this on a few US forums...another reminder to check your trailing arm bolts!!
Hello Gang - I just wanted to check in on a DeLorean that came into our
shop with a reported loose rear wheel bearing. On further inspection,
the bearing was loose because the right hand hub carrier casting had
developed a 2 1/2 inch long fatigue crack that nearly separated the
casting into two pieces. The bearing nearly fell out as we began to
remove it. On the same side of this car, the trailing arm bolt (TAB)
was so severly bent that we had to use a press to remove it from the
bushing. This message is intended to remind people to get back to the
basics of looking at the various important bits of the car on a regular
basis. The issues with this car were potential safety concerns, and
should not have progressed as far as they had. I have posted a picture
of the bent TAB from this particular car in our folder (DMC Northwest)
in the Photos section as a reminder of what this problem looks like.
We are seeing many cars with "deferred maintenance", which means that
the fleet has been drifting away from the basic routine maintenance
that will help prolong these cars indefinitely.

Dummy Switch
Part Number : 105610
Can anyone tell me if these are available anywhere? I want to make a better illuminating fog light switch with an appropriate transfer/sticker to replace the illuminated rocker switch that is currently fitted. This switch works ok, but the edge has broken and looks untidy.... It also has no transfer/sticker to identify it to the driver. Maybe these switches are available ready made??? I looked in the parts store, ie DMC Texas, and the on/off switches are available, but it does not tell you if they are illuminated etc. Thanks in advance.

Hi All,
I'm not sure if the PRV-6 used in the Pug 505 V6 was similar/same as the DeLorean engine, but I received the following email from someone who found my details on the Rapier club forum.
Please contact Kim directly if there are any parts you need that they may have left:
Dear Claire,
Please excuse me for writing to you direct like this but I found your e-mail
address on the SROC message board system. I am a former member of SROC and
have had several fastbacks in the past. Indeed, I think I was one of the
first fastback owners in the club.
I was interested to read that you have a DeLorean as I had three Peugeot
505 V6's which use a 2.8 litre version of the same PRV Douvrin engine.
These three cars became life expired and one was sold to Australia and
the other two are in the process of being broken up. You are almost too
late but if there are any engine parts you require, please reply soonest.
With much thanks,
Kim N. Faulkner, Dartford, Kent.

Hello evrybod,
This Tech seminar in Norfolk is in a couple of weeks, are any members taking any sort of video recording equipement, even if it's just a handy cam to contribute to our U.K. delorean feature for Gettysburg. I want to try to capture the true dedication of the U.K. club member in all their glory. Torettes and I went out last friday night and we went........... well, where we went is not important, but I wish I had taken a video camera then, and submitting that for the Gettysberg video project, although I probably would have had trouble explaining what some of the members were doing. We could have called it 'Deloreans do Dallas'.
Anyway I just thought I would ask and remind you all if you can take some sort of video camera if you don't mind, thank you all, laters J.
