  Fitting new steering column bush
Posted by: 88mph - 26 Sep 2015, 23:41 - Forum: 5 - Suspension / Steering - Replies (12)

Had ago at this today.
Now tried and tested wisdom says there are two ways of fitting these.......
1, Cut Bush in half and shove it in around column.
Or
2, Remove complete steering column, as stated in the workshop manual.

Neither of which appealed to me. So looking for a short cut that gave me a complete steering bush.

Here's what I did.

1, loosen top steering knuckle under bonnet. Remove bolt completely.

2, loosen tilt adjustment under dash.

3, give steering wheel a good yank and intermediate shaft will fall off. Column will just about pull through column Bush.

4, push old Bush out (into car) . Grease and Fit new Bush from the inside of car. I used a 25mm square piece of wood, about a foot long, and hammered it in.

5, Refit in reverse. Making sure column is inserted far enough. I used self-grippers to ensure adjustable column was pulled back out.......

  DeLorean wanted, Shrewsbury 21 October.
Posted by: Guinney1971 - 23 Sep 2015, 23:18 - Forum: TV/Film Hire and Work Requests - Replies (4)

Hi all,

had a message from Alison who runs the Charles Darwin Pub in Shrewsbury.

They are showing the BTTF films back to back on 21 October, and wondered
if a DeLorean would be available to be at the pub.

If anyone can help, can they ring her on 01743 600140.

  DOC-UK 2016 Calendars
Posted by: Guinney1971 - 23 Sep 2015, 22:50 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (35)

can I thank everyone who sent me photos to help me compile the 2016
DOC-UK calendar.

The order has now been placed, 25 wall calendars and 10 desk calendars,
and I've managed to get a great price on them too.

Desk calendars are going to be around £4.50 each plus post & packing, and the
wall calendars will be less then £6.00 each plus post & packing - I'll post prices
including P&P on here along with photos of the calendars once they arrive with
me in early October.

For anyone who doesn't want one posting, they will be taken to the NEC in November
so can be purchased direct from the Club stand - if you want one putting aside to make
sure you don't miss out, then let me know.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed Smile

Is anyone able to help or advise???

  DeLorean Europe Polo Shirts
Posted by: Chris Williams - 19 Sep 2015, 18:53 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (5)

Received one of these polo shirts today and thought I would post up some pictures and my opinion (for what it's worth!) This is a superb top with really great detailing as can be seen in the pictures. It's not cheap but compares very well in price to the items from our own on-line shop. The detail is great from the small rear light to the gullwing piping on the rear. The large white stripe may not suit some but helps off-set the grey-ness of the rest of it, but that's not a detriment the white contrasts really well. Anyway ramble over the product is available direct from:
Ed @: http://www.delorean.eu/catalog/product_ ... _id=168087
Or the Eurotec club shop: http://www.deloreanclub.uk/delorean-eur ... shirt.html
Well worth investing in one whilst there are is stock available.

We still have plenty of stock of our DOC branded logo polo shirts available from Mary Hooper, plus the Haynes logo front T-Shirts available from our club shop or Ebay shop plus our own on-line shop.

  Vin 1552 For Sale
Posted by: Chris Williams - 19 Sep 2015, 18:32 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (9)

The owner of 1552 has approached me to let me know he wishes to sell this car. This is the car that was featured on Classic Car Rescue and was as most know purchased/restored over in Canada prior to being imported to the UK. As I'm sure we all know this was a painted car but has had the paint removed very well, however it's always going to have that stigma attached to it and the owners is aware that this will probably lower the value. I had a look at it when it was imported and from memory it was not a bad car. The owner will be looking to get around 22k for it and I will post up pictures in the next day or so. Initially any serious enquiries to be through me please.
