That was news to me...but I agree its shame.....In the circumstances I'm sticking with plan A ..Its a new venue and less miles for me.

I'd be interested in coming to this meet up but being a 4 hour drive, I'm tempted to travel up the night before and stay at a B&B nearby.
Sort of make a weekend of it. Anyone else thinking the same?

Quote:I see the other guys are having their Summer event on the same weekend in Norfolk, which is a shame as may dilute numbers attending both events
Yes that is a (genuinely non intentional) shame. I think as it's at the opposite side of the country however it should not make to much of a difference especially with having other events at the same place in Norfolk during the year. I doubt very much as Claire even noticed this so I know it would not have been done intentionally. I think the intention was just to make an event that had more varied interest to it.

I think I was the one pushing for it, and I definitely didn't know! Perhaps someone with a foot in both camps will let us know next year?

I genuinely had no idea that there was another event in Norfolk at the same time - as you have said, they have several events in Norfolk throughout the
year, whereas this is an event on its own - and its not a DOC-UK event, but a national one that we are choosing to attend.
I think there are others interested in travelling down on the Saturday and staying over, so shall I look into hotels in the area and put some suggestions up?

This is one I was looking at earlier today only £62.00 per room (double) inc Breckie!
https://www.bestwestern.co.uk/hotels/bes...-0/rooms-1 Though price seems to keep changing
it's only 3 miles from the car show and seems to be of a reasonable size/standard. It's where I'm staying anyway!

There is a flyer going out with the next two club mags (next week hopefully) this will generate more interest.

If folks can email me there full name and registration number asap then I can send a list to the organisers.
Chris, thanks for sorting the hotel, I've not had much time lately due to Phill's accident and having to go back and
forth to the hospital in Derby.

Claire,
Put me down. SKM234W.
As for the hotel, i'm not sure if i'll stay in a hotel or not. I'm only 1 hr away. Hardly seems worth while. I'll maybe just go up and come down directly. I'll make a decision closer to the time.
