hi all

i know i am mad...but even i am tempted...

i am pulling together some cash after being without a D for 4 years or so...will get a rebuild and although this does look a mad one, the sort of thing i go for!!.

couple of things not sure with if i can ship and register without a US reg doc...i think i can. but not sure how shippers tell the US DVLA its permanently exported.

have asked for pics of the frame. the way i see it a D i buy will need work. i see quite a few cars supposedly ok, but in reality needing a strip down anyway.

i would prefer a good chassis as a frame off give me issues for lifting in a domestic garage. the paint i can sort, as can electrics and likely engine upto a point.

of course in the Midlands we have a ton of engine/gearbox specialist bods nearby!.

interior parts second hand from US where possible.

so i am tempted...but i need to make sure it can be registered....and yes i realise a long haul!!.

in fairness though i restored my vin 1621, have a BMW 320 Baur to restore too (fab car!) and have owned may spitfires, old 80's cars too...and imported many cars from Japan so well aware whats involved.

any thoughts, brave? Mad? need locking up maybe (wife says that!!)

but in reality with expensive wife and 3 kids cannot blow £25k straight on a good one (whereas £100 quids here and there over a while is not noticed!!)

regards

it is Much more difficult to get out of the us without tile i would worry about that more than getting it registered here.

Tricky one that, as mentioned above I don't think getting it into the UK would be an issue, the seller states it will have a bill of sale so that should be OK. Perhaps a chat to someone like Will Pocock at Trans Global who have imported a lot of them so they would probably be best placed to advise re lack of title.

One for 40K Confused  apparently for 40k you get a very special: 'WOW you don't see many of these and what an iconic car

Delorean Dmc Aluminium bodied'
Good grief, sellers feedback is not great either: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DELOREAN-DMC-C...SwmfhX6SkM

Why for 40k can the seller not get such a basic fact correct Angry

I don't think the number is worth £10k. probably half of that IMO.

Saw this DeLorean on ebay.com but located in Paris, France. It's already on this side of the pond so to speak with import Taxes paid.
Might interest someone who doesn't want to go through the import process. Looks a nice, original car. No affiliation with the seller but the owner Franck is a star car guru and is known within the D community.

Slight eyebrows, droopy headlining, black stuff sprayed underneath…..but lit looks complexity non-messed with. Just a matter of price really. Nice project for someone.
