My question to the seller was :- ' How is the chassis frame on the car?'
(the one we know is rotten near the the belly plate) his reply was….:- 'Oil pan corroded easy fix, chassis is excellent!' Now theres a thing…….

"Oil pan" being "closing plate" I assume.
"Chassis" no doubt being that big black plastic thing. Well, at least he isn't being misleading in the slightest

How much would it cost to put right do you think?
15 Dec 2015, 22:57
Quote:How much would it cost to put right do you think?Difficult question, probably not a huge amount in materials as your only chopping out rusty metal and replacing it. As I don't think any one has seen close up pictures of the damage. I think the problem will be in that you will 'probably' need to lift the body of the chassis to do it. Not a major job if your capable but as with all things if you have to pay someone to do it that's when it gets expensive. Chris

Yes it looks a lovely car, but the price is at the top end.
There is another one for auction, starting at $18k…an auto, that looks pretty good to me, although we can't see the chassis.

I did spot that $18k one - I think I've seen the same one listed previously on eBay.
This is the one I think? http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/151923806670

It certainly looks the same Tris…judging by the tears on the seat side. Did it sell before?

Not sure if it sold before, but I certainly remember these same pics, and the fact that the throttle cable has snapped. (bit of a pain if it needed to be imported I imagine) Tris

There is another nice looking 81 grey manual listed, better price than the last one with lots of bids, no chassis pictures though.
