Hey folks.
I'm suffering a bit from Nostalgia Over Practicality Syndrome (or "NOPS" for short - I can do that. ) I want to have a usable spare wheel in my boot. I have a perfectly good original wheel but with a 33yr old unused spare tyre on it which of course none of us, or at least very few of us would ever trust to use as a spare...BUT, I want to keep it that way...
"but you don't understand! ....it's mint! it's never been used! ...LOOK, it still has all the tread and all those little rubber hairs sticking out which means it's still brand new!!!" etc etc
Nostalgia is a killer isn't it!?
I've got the following facts on our spare wheels:
First, the tyre:
We have a T125/70/D15 measured tyre. This means (for the unsure - i'm sure not many of us. Not pointing any fingers... JohnC ...cough. Sorry about that  ) that the tyre is 125mm wide and has a side wall of 70mm and the overall tyre is for a 15" sized wheel. (Why do thay mix mm and inches!? - crazy!)
Now for the wheel:
We have 4-stud 15" diameter wheels with a PCD of 100mm. The inner hub bore is 2" (51cm) and the stud holes are 3/8" in diameter.
So now the problem i'm having.
I have no idea what other cars might share this type of spare wheel measurement characteristics. I've searched online and most people just list spare wheels for the car they're off of or the tyre measurements without the PCD and bore/stud measurements too. Some alloy site have such detail but they are for huge F-off wheels for all the boy racers.
I've heard a rumour in the past that the wheels from a Vauxhall Cavalier or a Corsa will fit, but these cars never came with space saver wheels, meaning they just will not fit the space provided in the boot of a D.
Has anyone else ever had much luck with this which they've not told the rest of us about?
Has anyone got a small modern car with a space saver wheel in the boot which they could do some measurement against for elimination or even better a "BINGO!" moment?
I've looked at pictures on the internet and quite a few small car spare wheels like Toyota Yaris and some small Fiats look very close but this comment is only based on approximation and not a proper measurement.
Any help would be appreciated.
