Ok then i have a problem. Mine only works horizontally ( side to side )
Is it likely to be the control stick or the motor behind the mirror that's on the blink???

Could just be a loose connection.. When I got my car the passenger side mirror only went from side-to-side. After a week or so, with the doors being opened and shut several times, it started working up-and-down as well.. Has been fine ever since....

Often the back of the switch itself falls off! would be worth checking that out as well.

This happened to me in the early days of my ownership... I bought a new mirror switch and it started working again before it actually arrived.
I blamed water ingress in the door.... and even found out a rodent had lived in one door for a short time some owners ago!
