Pics of where you've mounted your isolator?
No point, it's a 14mm ring spanner located in the battery box to undo the 14mm earth bolt off the battery.
The isolator on all my other vehicles is the same principle, just a different size spanner....
Cost free and no ugly modifications....
If it's too much bother to drop an earth lead off when you lay your car up, then it's unisolated at your own risk!

I don't even know where a battery is on a D, I'd guess boot for weight distribution. No? Yes?
Cheers Karl.
Not long after I got my car back from Chris N in 2011, I fitted one of these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Car ... 35d72bf62e Simple to fit, and no holes required.
Nearly 4 years on, and I've never suffered from a flat battery. I would recommend you fit an isolator, the above link however only works if you have converted over to a round post battery.

I have fitted and used various types of switches over the years…this is similar to my current one
http://r.ebay.com/6tr4R8
In the past I have located them mainly behind the seat near the battery box. But I find it very irritating when having 'flung myself ' into the drivers seat…to find I have forgotten to turn it on!
So my current set up is to connect the switch on a couple of 12' long heavy duty fly leads and lead this down the side of the driving seat. I tuck it partially under the carpet and then drop a yellow duster over the switch its self. my hand just drops down naturally onto the switch ( My Right hand in my case) and its dead handy and pretty foolproof. You can of course take the red key away with you as extra security..but I hardly ever bother.
Those of you with the steering wheel on the 'Wrong" side, will need to have longer cables and be a bit move inventive.
But the yellow duster thing looks great and is a perfect disguise. (I send a picture later today when I drop the car down on the floor).

The beauty of the one I have in my car is that I can just reach over from the drivers seat (mine is LHD), I leave the battery cover loose, so it's just a case of lifting the carpet and re-tightening the wheel to reconnect the battery.
I did have one of the switches Chris linked to, but decided not to fit it as to mount it properly would mean drilling a hole into the battery access cover, which I didn't want to do.

I am told the car that sold at the NEC show a couple of weekends ago has shown up on EBay.
Prices are going through the roof at the moment.

Well asking prices are…..not quite the same thing.
Car dealers, (even ones that can't tell the difference between Aluminium and Stainless Steel)….do seem to like a nice big margin.

Quote:One in Ireland on Ebay for 30K, apparently had a recent full re-wire! may be worth checking out, shame there are no pictures of the chassis & engine. But looks very nice inside and the description reads well. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1981-DeLorean ... 2c907c566a
Now on it's way back to the Derby/Nottinghamshire DeLorean Hotspot

Errrm. Little short on detail, vin number, how long has it been in the UK etc.
If you look at the sellers feedback history its a bit 'mixed'. Rather like the advert. But if you've got £30K spare, may be worth a look.
It's a pity I didn't see the advert a couple of days ago…..came back from a week in Norfolk only yesterday and I could have reported on it.

Your right Chris, perhaps the seller has not yet got around to uploading good quality pictures, especially of the chassis as that's what people want to see on a 30k car. I have had a couple of calls about it today from new members/prospective owners about it however it's difficult to comment until you know who's car it is/history Etc.
Either way I'm sure it's a good car.

Not sure if this one has been mentioned before on Ebay UK at 33K:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291234291398? ... 26_rdc%3D1
There is 'probably' a lot of truth in the 15k refurb work as this was imported last year and was painted red so probably has had all the body gone over by ChrisN

Anyone know who's car this is or the Vin? The number plate is so similar to a couple of others on the market.

What is a "Turbo Mechanic" and does it follow that this car has a turbo?

A lot of Deloreans have the SVR prefix, must be what the DVLA use for imorts? Keenly priced car though and may well be worth looking at. You would have thought there would be more than one picture for a 28.5k car mind, and is that paint I see on the doors??
