On my OS drive shaft, the old Roll/Flange Pin (Pt no. SP10090) shattered when hammering it out. So I need a new one. It's 2" (50.8 mm) long, is 1mm thick, and had a diameter of 6 mm.
This is I think, a pretty standard size, replaceable from even the Halfords Roll Pin various size kit for £7.99, but What I'm unsure of, is the material. Is it required to be hardened material in any way? Can "any old roll pin of the same size" still do the job, or is it advised to just buy from Ed?
