Drive Shaft Roll/Flange Pin - Rissy - 11 Sep 2013 On my OS drive shaft, the old Roll/Flange Pin (Pt no. SP10090) shattered when hammering it out. So I need a new one. It's 2" (50.8 mm) long, is 1mm thick, and had a diameter of 6 mm. This is I think, a pretty standard size, replaceable from even the Halfords Roll Pin various size kit for £7.99, but What I'm unsure of, is the material. Is it required to be hardened material in any way? Can "any old roll pin of the same size" still do the job, or is it advised to just buy from Ed? Re: Drive Shaft Roll/Flange Pin - Rich H - 11 Sep 2013 "any old roll pin of the same size" Nothing special about them... Re: Drive Shaft Roll/Flange Pin - stunned_monkey - 11 Sep 2013 Renault numbers Driveshaft roll pins outer 77 03 067 023 inner 77 03 067 135 The inner one is a tiny one that goes through the large one, not entirely necessary on the DeLorean but a belt'n'braces approach. Re: Drive Shaft Roll/Flange Pin - Rissy - 11 Sep 2013 OK, cheers guys. Can you believe the garage never had ANY roll pins available. "Obsolete, unused part, as far as cars are concerned these days" they said. Has to brace the flange on one side only using one bit of the old pin, just to allow me to get home with the car. I'll organise a new pin, maybe two, to replace the other old one on the other side, which didn't break, and have it/them fitted in the spring time, next time the car sees daylight. Re: Drive Shaft Roll/Flange Pin - stunned_monkey - 12 Sep 2013 A high tensile M6 capscrew, as long as you can find, is ideal for use as a punch for this job. |
