Hi all not sure if this is really in the right topic but my engine cover release handle (behind the drivers sholder)LHD seems to have brocken it pulls out quite far i think the end in the cab has brocken or came off.i dont think it is the engine cover end would anyone have a diagram on what it looks like behind the pully and if you know if i will be able to get to it from the cab side.
i would appreciate any advice or tips

Hope this helps!
The best thing to do is take out your near side (drivers LHD) rear light cluster.
You can reach in behind the Number plate and release the engine cover.
Once open you'll be able to see whats gone wrong and take off the access plate (item 32) to the latch assembly.

Once you've got in, if you need a replacement pull-handle then I think Vehicle Wiring Products (In Nottingham) does an identical pull handle kit.

It locks
Mine never has and I never new it had a locking mechanism on the engine bay
I always thought it was a bit insecure... So I have found the handle and that still works and I can hear the latch moving. But it seems to be missing anything which fits into the latch.

It looks like that may be all I need if the female receiver for that is in there, hard to tell from the pics.

Thats all you will probably need. You wont need to screw it all the way in though, well i didnt anyway. Some adjustment may be required to get it right

Its funny that little latch striker looks strikingly familiar as the pins which hold the base of my Christmas tree in place.....
