  Ignition switch-cheap replacement!
Posted by: bjbrownie - 08 May 2016, 22:02 - Forum: 3 - Electrical - Replies (4)

For a while now Ol' Stainless has been paying homage to BTTF by occasionally refusing to start-just a click when the key was turned ( just like Marty in the film when he bangs his head on the steering wheel to make it start) and I decided to sort it as it was getting more and more frequent.
I remember an article somewhere that said that the Rover SD1(1976-1986) shared the same part so I got a genuine part off eBay for a tenner and free P&P.
Sorted it today, dead easy job only had to swap the connector plug over,5 minute job unplugging the tangs and the new part fitted better than the original!
There were only 2 left on the eBay so I bought both being very selfish and thinking of the future?
Roverpart number DRC 1382
The original switch had bits rattling inside it,haven't done the Post Mortem on it yet?

Delorean wanted in Manchester in June
Posted by: Crimond56 - 08 May 2016, 10:35 - Forum: TV/Film Hire and Work Requests - No Replies

Hi, I've had a request for Delorean:
I am interested in hiring a Delorean to sit on my drive as part of an 80s themed party. I live in Cheadle, South Manchester and the party is Sat 18th June 2016.  Please could you let me know availability and cost?

Can anyone help as I am stuck in land of camels in Saudi

His email is nikhig@yahoo.co.uk

Hi everyone, we are awaiting delivery of our DeLorean sometime this week or next from Guildford. We live in the New Forest, near Bournemouth and are looking forward to taking it out and about. I think theres going to be a lot of arguments with our 3 girls as to who goes first !!
Any recommendations for insurers?

  New Exhaust Muffler
Posted by: Stuart Rees - 29 Apr 2016, 13:34 - Forum: 2 - Emission / Fuel Systems - Replies (5)

I am toying with the idea of having the rear 'muffler' remade in SS.  I mean just the back box, not a full system.  I need at least 2 for my own cars as both are rusty and a brand new shiny part at the back would look sooo much better... Plus it's a chance to give the exhaust an extra sound in its design.
Has anybody done this? or is interested in having it done too?

  leaking rear main seal
Posted by: Yianni - 24 Apr 2016, 02:04 - Forum: 1 - Engine - Replies (6)

Hello all, I have a rear main seal that is leaking again (after third time replacing).  This time I removed the retainer plate also, thinking maybe it wasn't lined up correctly the other times.  Can anyone provide any tips on new installation?  Do I install retainer plate first without seal or install seal into retainer plate and then into back of engine, tightening sequence, face bolts first then bottom bolts on retainer plate or something different.  Also is there a better seal out there?  Sorry for being so detailed, but don't want to go through this again. Any advice or input will be appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Hi All,

New to the club and forum, I bought VIN 2959 from DMC Midwest through Chris at PJ Grady UK and arrived earlier this month, been MOT'd and just waiting for the DVLA to come back with the registration. Can't wait to get it on the road and drive it.  Smile
