Photo VIN 5219
Posted by: DMC1983 - 25 Jan 2019, 20:26 - Forum: Members Cars - Replies (80)

Hello

Im finally an owner after putting in a ton of overtime. I purchased 5219, a manual grey interior october 81 car from BHCC. The payment has just cleared and now begins the actual importing part.

This is a restoration job, how big I dont really know yet. I know what the interior needs but I will be concentrating on getting her to be a reliable and a decent driver first.

The plan was always to get a decent driver with very little work needed to begin with. However, after seeing asking prices recently I decided a restoration was the way to go. Now that Ive bought a car, I feel it was the best decision. Im going to appreciate the car more than I already do and im gonna know whats gone into the car. Im really looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

The great thing is there will now be another DeLorean in the UK. The hard part for me is I have to wait up to 8 weeks before it lands here.

Here are a few pics from the listing:

  PRV Engine on EBay
Posted by: Chris Williams - 23 Jan 2019, 21:01 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - No Replies

On EBay at the mo, apparently:

Was a runner but been stood for 20 years so will require full strip down, turns over smoothly.

had an potential buyer lookat the engine and apparently the valley has deep corrosion which is a known issue with these engines

I'm sure there is corrosion, there always is but until stripdown you cant tell really. May be OK

Posted by: Chris Williams - 22 Jan 2019, 18:00 - Forum: Southern England - No Replies

Attention All Car Clubs.....
Hello All,
I have sent a previous email to you guys introducing you to the International Sports & Classic Car Show to be held at the incredible East Of England Showground on May 25th - 27th.

It is incredibly vital to the show that we have as many car clubs as possible in attendance because without "YOU" the clubs, there is no show....

We are proud to say that we have already sold 43,000 advanced tickets which should see us achieve the 70,000 visitors target over the course of the weekend.

Would your club be interested in attending the show... ?? here are a few details that will help you decide..

Each club will be required to have a minimum of 8 cars on display at all times..
We have allocated enough space to clubs to allow for a marquee and 8 cars.
Club stands would need to be manned from 9am to 5pm on each of the 3 days.
Each driver will be given a free access pass for both driver and car, passenger passes will be offered at £10 each for the day.
Club Marquees welcome, sell your club merchandise, and entertain new members....

Each club will be advertised in the event programme which will be supplied free each day.

There is camping on site which will be charged at £15 per day and access will be available from Friday the 24th May at 2pm. Electricity and water is available on site for campers.

The website for the event is www.internationalsportscarandclassic.co.uk

We hope you and your club will come and join us for this  fantastic event.
Should you require any further information please get in touch.

Best wishes

Classic and Retro Festival, Gloucester. 24th August 2019
Posted by: Chris Williams - 22 Jan 2019, 17:59 - Forum: Midlands - Replies (1)

Dear Sir / Madam

Please find attached an invitation to you and your members to a special Festival we are hosting in the City of Gloucester on 24th August 2019.

The Classic and Retro Festival is a unique event celebrating living history and particularly transport throughout the ages.  For this event we shut down our inner City and bring in Classic and Historic vehicles representing as many different marques as possible.

We have four Historic Gate Streets and each is themed and represents different eras of time 1900-1949, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s to modern day times.
Each Street has re-enactors, businesses, shops, restaurants, and celebrities all playing their part with good food, fashion and with music and dancing providing extra entertainment, enjoyment and fun for all, whilst we also support our charities at the same time.

The cars may be driven right into the heart of the City and park free of charge for the event by authorised application.  There are special prizes for the best cars in each Street and a completion also for those that dress for the occasion.

This is an Award winning event and we would be pleased if you have members who you feel would like to join us and could represent the various types and styles of your marque.

I look forward to hearing from you and wish you all compliments of the Season.

Kind regards
Colin

Cork Car Show, Sunday 2nd April 2019
Posted by: Chris Williams - 22 Jan 2019, 17:56 - Forum: Ireland - No Replies

Dear Delorean Owners Club (UK),

I am just emailing you with regard to the annual Cork Car Show that we are running here at the Cork International Hotel on Sunday 2nd April 2019.

In the past 2 years we have raised over €16000 for Bumbleance, the National Children’s Ambulance Service which we could not have done without the support of the amazing participating car and bike clubs. We had such a great turn out of cars and bikes and we were incredibly grateful in particular to the Car Clubs who really jumped on board to support the event and brought groups along.

This is a short video from last year’s show –

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wslXWowHlWU

After 2 years with the great team of Bumbleance, we are now going to be supporting another children’s charity which is the Rainbow Club for Autism.

We are running the car show on Sunday 2nd April 2019 and it will be run as a family fun day.

Our kind neighbours at Cork Airport are giving use of the long term carpark which is accessed via our hotel for the weekend.

The plan is to run the event from 11am-4pm on the Sunday.

Adults will be €5 entry and children will be free. We will have various activities over the day including some outdoor music if the weather is on our side.

For those that wish to arrive on the Saturday evening, we will have live music and some complimentary finger food for exhibitors. We will obviously have security in the car park as it is a secure zone being part of the airport so cars can park there from the Saturday afternoon.

I just wondered if you would be able to circulate this to your members and revert back to me with a guide number of exhibitors.

I am just looking to initially get an expression of interest before I compile a list of competitors and exhibitors for the show. After you revert to me, I will then send you through a booking form so that we can get each cars details for the show in advance.

I look forward to hearing from you and really hope that you will be able to support our charity event this year.

With Kindest Regards,

Subject: CARS at the SPA
The first “Cars at the Spa” is being held at the Pump Room Gardens, on Sunday 30th. June 2019, set in the heart of the regency spa town of Leamington. Adjacent to the Royal Pump Rooms (CV32 4AA) and beside the shopping area known for its small individual shops in addition to the larger multiples, it offers an interesting day out.

The Rally itself is open to any classic vehicles with an emphasis on those over 25 years old. As this is the first event of its kind entries will be limited so it is advisable to book a place early to be sure of being accepted.

Please refer to the attachments for full details of the Event, along with the entry forms. If appropriate, please forward this email and the attachments to your members or return the booking form, £5 booking fee and a stamped self-addressed C5 sized envelope to Cars at the Spa 10, Guys Cliffe Avenue, Leamington Spa, CV32 6LY.
If you have a question about the event please use our website contact page.                              www.carsatthespa.co.uk.
Thank you.

Pleased to write issue 82 of the club mag has been sent out today, apologies for the delay we were looking at getting this out before Xmas but we missed the deadline for Xmas close-down. Non the less it's the first magazine (and hopefully not the last!) produced by our new Editor Matthew Clark so I'm sure he would appreciate feedback. Thanks to all the contributors.
