Croydon Cambs Classic Vehicle Show -
In its ninth year -
Sunday 7th July 2019

Show cars from 10.30; Public Show Noon to 4.15pm

A Great Family Day Out for all Classic Vehicle Owners & Enthusiasts

A must in the diary for all Classic Vehicle Owners, Enthusiasts and their families. FREE entrance for Show Cars, their Drivers and all visiting children. Once again we are truly grateful to Danny Hopkins - Editor of Practical Classics - for his continued support and unique and informative parade commentary and Prize Giving. This is a great day out with something for all the family including vehicle parades, prizes, stalls, games, food, beer, plants, shade under the trees (!), live music, Mediaeval C13th church with displays - find out about Croydon's connection with 10 Downing Street!

This show, now in its ninth year, has become a highlight in the regional summer calendar yet has retained its quaint charm and boasts a growing loyal following. On a glorious sunny day last year we welcomed in excess of 140 show vehicles. Once again all monies raised will help our village to maintain its Village Hall and restore the beautiful mediaeval church of All Saints which sits alongside the show field and will form part of the day’s programme.

For those who don't already know, Croydon is a small village set on a hill in beautiful South Cambridgeshire countryside. The village lies about 7 miles north of Royston on the A1198 and about 1 mile west of Arrington and Wimpole Park.
Note Show Cars & Drivers enter FREE. Show car arrivals from 10.30 a.m. and before noon, please. There is no need to stay at home for breakfast as once again bacon butties & tea/coffee will be available for purchase near the signing in desk.

It would be helpful to know of your attendance in advance as this will greatly assist with planning, though no one will be turned away on the day. Please reply using one of the methods indicated below.

A huge THANK YOU in anticipation of your support and please pass this mail on to other enthusiasts and also invite your family and friends to a great day out!

Looking forward to welcoming you on the day

Directional indicator on cluster not working....
Posted by: TristanC - 26 Mar 2019, 18:19 - Forum: 3 - Electrical - Replies (2)

So my right indicator on the cluster is not working.

When I indicate right, the front and rear indicators outside work as normal.
But the cluster doesn’t show that it’s indicating right.
Left works perfectly fine.
Hazards only illuminate the left on the cluster, but outside all is fine.

Additionally, I can hear the indicator clicking when indicating.

This happened to me a few weeks back, and then it started working again.
And then today on the way home it stopped again.

Loose connection on the cluster perhaps?
The low beam indicator is quite dim.... so perhaps a contact issue perhaps.
And the connection on the circuit board is not working for the temp gauge as I had to run a new wire to get that working last year.

So perhaps I need a new circuit board?

If so, is that easy to do?? I don’t fancy getting the binnacle out Sad
(Which I know I’d need to do....)

A few days later than planned (my fault family issues) Issue 83 was posted this morning, another high quality issue (even has a wipe clean cover)! put together very well by our fab editor.
We are however getting short on content so please email over any stories you have, they are all more than welcome.

DeLorean wanted, Durham area 4th May 2019
Posted by: Chris Williams - 22 Mar 2019, 15:10 - Forum: TV/Film Hire and Work Requests - No Replies

Hi

I came across your website as I am looking for a company that hires out DeLoreans in the North of England, ideally near Darlington/Durham .  Do you have any details of any such person/company?

Your help is greatly appreciated, as its for my fella to whom I am getting married to on the 4th May 2019-his mum is very ill, I am treatment for breast cancer and he is pretty much going through the ringer!  I would very much like his wedding present from me to be taken to the ceremony in a DeLorean if possible.

Could you help with any details of people I can contact?

Many thanks

Nicola

Car Show, Royal Highland Centre. edinburgh. 14th July 2019
Posted by: Chris Williams - 22 Mar 2019, 13:52 - Forum: Scotland - No Replies

Hi Folks,

I hope you don't mind me getting in touch.

I'm contacting yourself on behalf of The Scottish Car Show.  We are Scotlands biggest family motoring event.  Now in our 15th year running, we are looking to expand our horizons and have more of a presence from vintage, classic and retro vehicles of all makes, models, shapes and sizes.

The show itself is being held on Sunday 14th July, at our usual venue, The Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh.

We are running an offer to clubs like yourself, where we are permitting free entry for the driver and 1 passenger of each vehicle entered into our show.  Additional passes can be purchased at a discounted rate, and children under 16 go free when booked in advance.

I hope you will accept our invitation and join us for a fun filled family day out.

Kindest regards,

Debbie
