Posted by: Harley - 11 Aug 2021, 19:08 - Forum: TV/Film Hire and Work Requests - Replies (1)

Good evening,
Are there any owners in the Cheshire or North West area at all please?
Desperately searching for a DeLorean and getting nowhere.
September 18th is the relevant date, evening request for photo opportunities at an event.

Thanks in advance.
Brendan.

I noticed this car for sale on eBay a LANCIA MONTECARLO and I must admit it did remind me a lot of the Delorean, just wondered if there was ever a connection in the design?

  Hello everyone

New user saying hello....

I have just recently purchased a Delorean fulfilling a 30 year dream.  Looking forward to getting it to the UK (currently in Ireland) and on the road.  A few mechanical issues to sort and some cosmetics but that’s part of the fun of owning a classic car!

Looking forward to getting to know the club members - please be kind with my inevitable questions when it arrives!

New member in Scotland saying hello
Posted by: Mike McR - 04 Aug 2021, 18:55 - Forum: New member? Say hello :) - Replies (9)

Hi everyone,

Just writing a quick hello as a new (old) member and enthusiast. I was originally member #347 about 15 or so years ago when Chris Parnham was club secretary (Hi Chris!) but unfortunately never made it to any of the big meets although I met a few from the club (Stuart Nicholls at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2006 and Stephen Knight in Ayr - not sure if they're still members...?) during that time and it was always a pleasure.

I've recently re-joined the DOC after living and working abroad for 11 years. Financially, I'm slightly closer to owning a D than I was before but I've noticed the prices have risen considerably!

Good to see there's a Scotland rep! I will drop James a line soon. I saw an old thread that mentioned monthly meetings just outside Edinburgh around 2015...? If anything like this started up again, I'd be keen to get involvedSmile

Anyway, it's good to be back and I hope to meet some more members soon.

Mike

Good Afternoon

Houghton Regis Town Council is pleased to announce that the Classic Car Show is once again included as part of the Houghton Rocks Music Festival. The date of the event will be Saturday 4th September from 12 noon at Parkside Drive Recreation Ground and the event has been sponsored by Autolusso, Houghton Regis.

This event will once again enable our local community to see and enjoy a stunning display of Classic, Vintage Cars and Motorcycles, and the Town Council would like to invite you to exhibit your vehicle.

Commemorative plaques will be given on the day as memento of the occasion and I am pleased to confirm that the vehicle competition has been reinstated, by popular demand, and a trophy will be presented to the winner of each category. The competition categories are:

  • Pre-war
  • Visitor 1945 – 1968
  • Visitor 1969 – onwards
  • Commercial
  • Motorcycles
  • Military

A trophy will also be awarded to the ‘Mayor’s Choice’ as an overall winner.

I am pleased to attach a QR code, which will take you to an online form to the car show, or alternatively, you can follow this link  https://forms.office.com/r/asJAVf8maj

We very much hope to see you on the day.

  VIN-5222 the dream has arrived
Posted by: theningiachicken - 03 Aug 2021, 11:16 - Forum: Members Cars - Replies (85)

So the time finally come, to those who i haven't seen/ spoken to over the silverstone weekend i can officially say im now a full Delorean owner of VIN-5222.

Over 8 years of being obsessed with the car i finally acquired one, she's still a touch red but thats soon to be removed over the winter months, engine runs but has difficulty holding idle (Rich Hutchinson has identified half the issue yesterday being the idle speed motor being seized), frame is solid with a bit of surface rust on the front extension and interior needs light restoration.

I will be vlogging as much of the restoration as i can and posting to the cars instagram page deloreangt.
