Dear all,
Hope you are well and safe.
Due to HM the Queen’s passing last year, we had to cancel the Steam & Cider Fair 2022, which was a huge shame as it was returning after two years, and we would have had a great turnout of classic vehicles. Undeterred, we want you to join us with your classic vehicle at this year’s One Borough Festival in Valence Park on Sunday 7 May. The One Borough Festival will be taking the best bits from our most popular festivals including the Steam and Cider Fair as well as the Roundhouse Music Festival to bring an exciting free family fun day, which is part of the Coronation weekend. We want the classic vehicle display to steal the limelight to show our residents the amazing vehicles we have. This year we want it to be bigger and better than ever before!
The car show is a great way to promote your club as the event attracts around 8,000 people with many car enthusiasts.
Please find attached vehicle application form to showcase your vehicle at this year’s One Borough Festival on Sunday 7 May at Valence Park. If you are interested in attending, please complete and return.
Further information about the event can be found at www.lbbd.gov.uk/oneboroughfest
We would be grateful if you could share this with other enthusiasts, colleagues, websites, magazines, clubs and friends so we can make this bigger than before!
We look forward to seeing you and your classic vehicle at the event!
Thanks

Dear Chris,
I hope you are well. I'm the new Sales Manager for The Great British Car Journey Museum / Drive Dads Car attraction based in Ambergate, Derbyshire. Richard has asked me to drop you an email about some of the events we have coming up. I called the DeLorean club a couple of weeks ago and followed up with an email, however I thought I'd email you directly.
Please find the following event dates that we have coming up that we would love to see you and the club attend. If your members are interested in attending any of these events, they can book a ticket on our website http://www.greatbritishcarjourney.com and take advantage of their discounted ticket into the museum (£10 per person, normally £16 per person).
They can also drive some of our exhibits if they pre-book at http://www.drivedadscar.com. We have a selection of classic cars available to drive.
All events 10am - 4pm and the dates are as follows:
Supercar Day, Sunday 26th March, Voucher Code SCD26
Best of British Day, Sunday 2nd April, Voucher Code BOB1
Drive It Day, Sunday 23rd April, Voucher Code LEFT
80s Retro Fest, Sunday 7th May, Voucher Code RF80
Centenary of Le Mans, Sunday 2nd July, Voucher Code COLM
The Two Seat Meet, Sunday 6th August, Voucher Code 2SEAT
Peak Thunder V8s, Saturday 19th August, Voucher Code V8PT
If your members are interested in attending any of the events, please let us know what sort of numbers are planning on arriving here. There are many more events which can be found on our website https://greatbritishcarjourney.com/events-calendar/
These will be fantastic events and we look forward to seeing your members' cars at some of them. Also, if you wish to arrange your own event using our venue to host it, please get in touch.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Oliver Hann

Hello,
I am emailing you as Amerton Railway in Staffordshire is holding a two-day classic car event on the 9th and 10th September 2023. We would very much like for individuals or clubs to bring along their classic vehicles to this show. We have previously run this event very successfully as a one day event, but this year we want to go bigger and bring together the immutable mix of classic vehicles and trains! As a registered charity, we're running this event in aid of the continuing maintenance and restoration of our heritage locomotive and carriage fleet .
You can see a little more information about the event and find application forms on our website at www.amertonrailway.co.uk/road-and-rail
I have attached a few photographs of the railway and our previous event.
If you are interested in attending as a club, we can arrange group applications to save on paperwork, just pop me an e-mail or call me on 07807056814
Thank you very much for your consideration,
Kris Douglas
Director
Amerton Railway

I've had this email from the event organisers about this years show:
"We would like to say a big thank you to you and all of your members for attending Really Retro 22! It was hot, very hot but most people looked happy, we hope you want to come back!
That leads me on to Really Retro 23 which will be held at the same venue; Penkridge Markets on Sunday 9th July.
The cost is low as always. £4 per car and this includes the car, driver and all passengers.
Minimum amount of cars for a stand: 6
Maximum amount is 20 (25 at a push)
Deadline for car club bookings is 31st March
How to book?
Gather your members and then complete the online booking form. You dont need to fill in all the details. We just need the car club name, your name, email address, number of cars and of course payment (the final step of the form).
Booking form:

Quote:Dear Events Organiser,
The De Havilland Aircraft Museum is a popular destination for Car Clubs of all types and we have hosted Clubs from Aston Martin, Saab and many others during the last 12 months.
For the standard admission price, we will allow members to park their cars in a dedicated area adjacent to our aircraft exhibits, thus enhancing the photographic opportunities for your cars.
However, if you would like your group visit to be something special, we can offer you our Group Tour package at £20 per head.
For groups of 10 or more people we are pleased to offer an all-inclusive Group Tour package of tea or coffee with biscuits on arrival, followed by a special 2 hour guided tour conducted by one of our dedicated team of experts.
If you are making a day of it, we can also organise a buffet lunch for your group should you require it.
The enclosed leaflet summarises our key attractions.
email sent to Claire,
Who would be interested in having a club event here? seems like if there's enough of us we can have a better deal for price and a buffet lunch?
If there is enough interest then we can look at dates for sometime in the next few months.

So the title is a bit weirdly worded but basically when I shift into reverse from drive or any other gear i get a really big jolt backwards when the gear engages. now its gotten a bit more violent today when i gave the refurbished Govenor a good test run around town. me and Rich Hanlon have come to a point where we think its being caused by the torque converter.
anyone got any ideas on what could be causing the issue?

Speedometer magnet(ism) |

Hi all,
In all my years around DeLoreans, I've not come across this one.
So, first question is; anyone know any cross references or how the inner workings of the speedo work?
Here's the issue. My speedo needle doth not move. The mileage increases (both barrels) so before anyone mentions it, it's not angle drive or cable related . To add, I have the speedo out and have spun it up with a drill and, nada.
The speedo itself is a metal cup/magnet affair. The cup is attached (with spring) to the needle. If I spin the cup, the needle moves.
The cable-end has the magnet on it. No matter how I spin that, it doesn't drag the cup around (but the mileage increases so I know it's doing something right).
The question is, before I start dismantling it and realise I can't buy a new one (really), is it likely I just need to remagnetise the magnet? That is, if I can. Otherwise, is there something else that should be in this that might be missing? (it really is just a cup and a metal rectangle that spins within it).
Cheers!
