  East Midlands pre-Xmas meet
Posted by: Guinney1971 - 30 Nov 2015, 15:27 - Forum: Midlands - Replies (3)

Hi all,

I know I'm really late in sorting this, but is there any interest in having a meet up
for a bit of lunch and a natter over a pint or two before Xmas?

I'm thinking Saturday 12th December - any ideas on venue?  Somewhere we've been
before or somewhere new?

Looking to do something in Notts/Derbys area.

  Midlands 'Runway car show's' 2016
Posted by: Guinney1971 - 30 Nov 2015, 15:25 - Forum: Midlands - Replies (1)

Any interest in having a club stand at one or both events?

Midlands Car Shows would like to invite your car club to our forthcoming
motor shows. We have shows for both Classic/Retro Vehicles and a unique
blend of both at our established Runway show later in the year. First up is
The Really Retro and Classic Car Show will be held on Sunday 22nd May 2016
and is open to all vehicles from 1995 and earlier. The show debuted last
year and we had a healthy number of visitors, clubs and traders. In 2016 we
expect to double visitor numbers and attractions at the show and hope your
club wants to join us! Please visit the website
<http://reallyretroshow.eventpages.org/> for further information.

Runway Display Motor Show will be in its third year and we are proud to be
the midlands number one 'All makes, All Eras outdoor car show'. Scheduled
for Sunday 21st August 2016, the show will build upon the success of last
years event where we welcomed 2000+ visitors to the event. Further
information can be found at www.runwaydisplay.com , further information
will be added over the coming months once we have confirmed clubs, prizes
for competitions and attractions.

Both shows are held at a former WW2 Airfield in Staffordshire, the address
for the venue is: *Seighford Drving Centre, Clanford Road, Seighford,
Stafford*

Prices for either show are £3.75 per car and your members can bring as many
passengers as they want, at no extra cost!

To book you can either complete a form *as a club* (quite often the best
way) or you can ask each of your members to fill a form in, as long as they
put the club name in, we accept multiple form entries.

All the details are on the following online form, please complete and you
are all booked in.

MIDLANDS CAR SHOWS ONLINE BOOKING FORM
<https://form.jotformeu.com/53295755001352>

Please get back in touch if you have any queries. Please note, we will
require each of your members car registration details as we check these
upon entry, no paper tickets are issued. All bookings will receive a FREE
Runway Display window decal for their car.

Kind Regards

VIN 6101 For Sale - Single Turbo?
Posted by: crossland86 - 29 Nov 2015, 21:53 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (9)

Any opinions on this car, currently for sale on ebay USA?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DeLorean-DMC-12-...1471316135

I hadn't realised they ever made a factory-option single-turbo car? I thought there was just the twin-turbo in development? I'm a bit power-hungry so the idea of a DeLorean with a little more 'go' appeals, though I don't just want to buy a random aftermarket modified car.

I'm in the US (California) for a month in January and keen to find a car to bring back. If anyone knows of any that are worth looking at (and I'm not thinking Beverley Hills Car Club) I'd happily go hunting...

From Mongolia to the UK - Road Legal question
Posted by: howielambert - 23 Nov 2015, 14:13 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - Replies (14)

My 1981 Delorean is enroute from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Harwich, ETA the first week of December.

Can anyone recommend a good shipping agent that can clear the car through UK customs?  Also, is there a mechanic or garage that is known to carry out the necessary changes to lights etc to make the car UK road legal?  Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks

North Lincolnshire event, 9th July 2016
Posted by: Guinney1971 - 19 Nov 2015, 22:59 - Forum: Midlands - No Replies

From Facebook, this guy is a 'friend of a friend' - anyone in Lincs/Yorkshire/further afield up for this?

Hi Claire,

Hopefully you don't mind me asking, I organize a village festival where I live and at this festival we combine it with a classic car show. And this year we have a " movie" theme. And I was wondering about getting a Delorean to our show? Hence the reason I'm sending this message, to see if this could be of interest to you? It's next year Saturday the 9th of July, and its in a small farming village called Wroot which is in North Lincolnshire

We have a t-rex dinosaur booked ( Jurassic park ) and bumblebee from transformers. And we are waiting to hear back from some storm troopers & darth vader characters. So a Delorean would be a great addition. I know its a big ask but it would be brilliant if you can.
We do have a Facebook group page called Wroot Fest if you wanted to look at the pictures from last year event?
Many thanks for your time, and hopefully we will speak again soon.

Neil.
