How to remove manual gear knob?
Posted by: andys - 01 Feb 2016, 13:58 - Forum: 4 - Transmission - Manual & Automatic - Replies (3)

Hello all

Hopefully a quick one.

I am trying to remove my leather gear gait or to send off to get a replacement leather one made up with black leather and red stitching.

I have tried to get 'physical' with the gear knob by trying to unscrew it, but don't want to put to much force into it.

Does anybody know how these gear knobs are removed? Do I need to 'man up' and use 2 white knuckles and a grunt?

Many thanks in advance.

LED friendly Flasher Relay and Capacitor
Posted by: andys - 28 Jan 2016, 11:14 - Forum: 3 - Electrical - Replies (6)

Hello Everyone

I will be looking into an issue with my indicators and Hazards this weekend (both fuses are ok - just get a single click then nothing), I have ordered a LED friendly Relay CF13 GL-02, which may not arrive in time but I will still be looking into the issue.

My question is- when I install the new relay can I remove the 2.2 uF capacitor associated with the old Flasher relay. My understanding is that it is part of the flasher circuit and dictates the cycle time of the old flasher relay, but the new one is more 'digital' and will flash at the correct times regardless of the load.

  This time last year.....

Looking through FartBook, it reminded me that a year ago I had to repair the DeLoreans heater matrix-nothing unusual in that, but I had forgotten how freakin' cold and unsavoury the weather was at the time-some things are best forgotten!

If any one has any of the following for sale could you give me a shout please? Engine Sump, Sandwich Plate, Rocker Covers. Or complete engines! Having built a few engines to keep other peoples cars on the road I'm now running short on the above items.
Thanks
Chris

  Sump pan gasket
Posted by: stu3954 - 22 Jan 2016, 08:15 - Forum: 1 - Engine - Replies (4)

Hi all,
My sump pan gasket has been leaking oil for as long as I can remember, I think I did it from the start, from when I originally fitted it.
Does anyone know if they do an upgraded gasket?
The standard one is pretty rubbish I think.
  Thanks
