#1
Does anyone have a distributor and/or ignition module that they would be interested in selling or can anyone recommend a good supplier?

Cheers

I have a spare working ignition amplifier if you need one. The casing looks scruffy.

I just bought a distributor from Chris Williams you can have for the price I paid if you need one ASAP.

PM me if you need it.

Oh, how do I start with this one...

OK so firstly: thank you both very much for your help, I appreciate it a great deal.

Right I'll come clean, I don't actually own a De Lorean.
I did want one once, well actually I still want one, but at the time I changed my mind and although still opted for something unusual (Fiat Coupe Turbo) I chose to buy something that was ridiculously fast (but still stylish IMO as opposed to say a Scooby or Evo).
I really enjoyed owning the Fiat. Owning a hand built Italian sports car certainly led to weekends spent in the garage but probably not as many as if I'd owned an Irish hand built sports car. That's the impression I get anyway.

Coming to the De Lorean forum and looking at the gallery has reminded me of the special something that De Loreans seem to have for me. and also I notice that your forum seems to be a nice place. When I bought my Fiat coupe back in 2001, the Fiat coupe forum was a nice place too; it's gone down hill a bit now but it's still good. The point I'm trying to make is that compared to other forums I go onto this De Lorean one seems very good; you seem a good bunch (I'm not trying to butter you up, I promise).

So how have I ended up here? Well my current car (far from a Fiat coupe or De Lorean) has broken down and I'm struggling to fix it. Nearly every time I look-up details of the parts I end up back here.
From the response I've received here I realise I'm better off here than the Volvo forum I more recently frequent. I have a Volvo 760; there I've said it

I sold the Fiat coupe and put my De Lorean ambitions on hold when in 2003 I (and my now wife) moved to Ascension Island. So yes that's really where I am.
There aren't many cars here (about 1100), no De Loreans unfortunately and not much in the way of a garage or motor-factors.
Does this make me your most remote forum member?

Nick, are you still happy to sell the parts to me even though I'm not a De Lorean owner (at least I'm getting some engine practise in if I do get one).

Also one thing I've thought of is that I've found it difficult to get information required to solve the problems I've been having with this engine and when I've solved it I'd gladly put together all the details for this forum seeing as it's 98% the same engine.

The engine in the 760 is an even fire engine.
The engine in the DeLorean is an odd fire engine and the advance curve is different so it won't fit I'm afraid.

You could try UK breakers yards specialising in volvo gear like Volsaa in Derby.

As far as the volvo 760 you don't say if the engine has ke-jetronic of lh-jetronic injection.

My one is the early with the odd fire (similar to the 260 I think). It's definitely odd fire. It has K Jetronic.
