London ULEZ charging
#1
I got into a conversation with colleagues at work about the new London ULEZ expansion, and we all started checking the status of our cars against their rules.

This is the webpage to do this:

https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/

I'm OK for my "ordinary" vehicles, but it seems that they want £12.50 a day from me for Lex on top of the congestion charge, despite it being registered as a historic vehicle for over a year now.

Anyone else get the same result?

It's all very well and good them stating it, but if their tools don't pick up on it, then how are you supposed to "plan your journey" efficiently....?

I 'think' they pick it up manually (or at least that's what someone told me) worse case I guess you can appeal and win. Unlike over-zealous parking fines  Big Grin

Actually. I won against my parking fine. It got cancelled last week. It was a ridiculous charge in the first place, and fortunately the management of the facility agreed. They were told to operate with more reasonable judgement in the future.

It was one of those really stupid ones where a bit of common should have prevailed in the first place!

I did a check a few weeks ago, the only vehicles we have that are ULEZ
compliant are my daily EV, which is also congestion charge exempt, and Phill's
2002 Avantime 3.0 V6 Auto - that one surprised us TBH! My mum's 2005
Clio 1.2 16v is also ULEZ exempt.
TBH, we can't stand London, so any further excuse not to drive anywhere
near the place suits us down to the ground.
