It's got to that time of the year (again) where the organizers of the above event have confirmed stands for this years show. As ever I'm looking for people to very kindly volunteer to display cars/help with the stand Etc.
I know a few ideas were batted around last year regarding displaying historical items but logistics as ever seems to be the issue. It is a big commitment but as those who attend can vouch we are incredibly well received bu the public who love to visit the stand and cars.
Any suggestions are more than welcome
Chris

Count me in as usual bud! Happy to help with logistics. As you know I also managed to get some barriers this year which I will bring.
If the club can afford it, then I think having the stand area carpeted really enhances the appearance.

Yup count me and 5222 in again this year. I'll bring anything if required too.
I know Andy W has already sorted tables at TGI in advance, means no trip to "Toby's gammon shack" this time.

I can offer up my car for display, and right now have the potential for Thursday mid-late afternoon-early evening to arrival with my car, and all day Friday to support as well as the weekend days too. I don't have enough holiday left to allow for all day Thursday unfortunately.

A BTTF replica always draws the crowds too, if one is available.
There are lots of new owners in the Club too, many with cars
none of us have seen before, so it would be nice if any of them
could spare the time and their cars too.
I'm sure we'll do the Sunday as normal, but I'm waiting to hear
if my Cavalier will be on the Cavalier & Chevette Club Stand as its
35yrs of the Mk3 Cavalier this year, and mine is an early car. If that's
the case, then I'll be around for the full 4 days in various capacities.

that would be great, I don't think I've seen his car in the metal. Can you keep us posted or get
Mike to let me or Chris know if he's free to display his car?

I'm happy to do a day helping out on the stand, probably can't do Friday. I can cover the cost of renting a couple of mannequins for the DMCL uniforms as long as they're able to be corded off / kept away from the public's hands?

As mentioned previously I have managed to secure lots of barriers and chain, I'm sure we could use these to keep the uniforms out of reach too Matthew ?

think i can source a decent tv so we can display some of the archive footage too, I'm taking inspiration from the rally car stand that was behind us, we'd have to get some kind of tall stand for it though if we would want something like that?

I've got a decent folding trestle table it could sit on (as well as a spare mac mini) but that would require power which is probably the bigger issue?

im sure we can run an extension cord from the stand, but would it be better to put it all on a USB? cause we don't want anyone running off with the mac when nobody is looking
