Rev counter duff, talk of replacing a processor?

So ive mentioned before my rev counter is unresponsive fixed in one position, so i removed the unit and hot wired it as such, only 3 feeds on it 12v and grnd then the signal, hooked up the 12v and grnd and straight away it slowly started moving so at least i know it does function.

I mentioned it to Ed and he said the processors on it are common for breaking, and can be replaced. Does anyone know what processor they use has anyone done this or know where i can pick one up?
