Hi guys,
I’ve had to have a bit of a hiatus from working on the car, but am planning to get back to it in the next couple of weeks. (most recent purchase- transmission jack. It just seemed easier than fighting with the box on my chest!!). Among numerous other jobs, I have poly bushed the rear upper and lower links.
I noticed on removal some witness marks (and although in the past repainted, some paint had previously been deliberately ground off the arms) on both the chassis and the arms, at the points indicated in the pic.
Anyone else ever seen this? I know they are not wonderfully precise cars, but I thought this was pretty rough, and would certainly be noisy and inhibit movement of the arms.
Everything seems stock, and the bushes which came out where standard. I do not think the bushes were so worn that they would allow contact, but you never know…
I thought about relieving the frame a little just at the contact points. Again, any opinion??
Cheers for now,
Andy
