I've found something interesting in my fuse box compartment.

It's an Archer Noise Suppressor:

does anyone else have one of these installed on their car? This thing has two connectors running from it and is wired directly onto the battery...

I had a scoot around the internet to see if I could find something on Archer's site, but I didn't find anything. Maplin's have something similar:

Any ideas? Should I care much?

Don't worry about it.

It does as the Maplin site suggests and filters off buzz from the alternator and other sources. It was probably put there by the previous owner in a no doubt vain attempt to improve the reception quality of the Craig radio.

You can either leave it, or remove it. I doubt it'll make much difference.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

thanks for the reply.

I might take it out, seeing as it's probably drawing (small) amps off the battery and I won't be messing with any stereo anytime soon...

cheers Smile
