#1
Hi,
Only joined the forum, I collect all automotive related items and thought some members might like to see this item, I found it in a box of books recently. The cars are said to have sold for about £12,000.

Very interesting. Most folk may know the tale.

3 transporters of cars were on their way to the docks ( 6 cars on each) when news came over the radio that the factory had been placed in receivership. Upon hearing this, the NIC boss managed to contact 2 of the drivers before they unloaded and ordered them back to his yard. The cars were 'seized' and after a lengthy legal battle, they were sold off. The first 12 cars ever officially sold in the UK. He more than cleared his dept.

Several are still in NI, one was painted Green and was at the 2003 Belfast show when some of us went over at Roberts request. The weather was awful if I remember correctly…snowing! But a great show attended by Sir Stirling Moss amongst others.
