I'm on the lookout for another Delorean. If anyone is considering selling, I have cash waiting. I've had the TM craze, now I'm just looking for a good conditioned stock Delorean to attend meets etc.

I think I was the first to go down that particular road Luke.
My car was not as elaborate as yours…so I simply took all my BTTF bits off one car and stuck them on a tatty black Auto. ( which we turned grey also) Then I had my 1983 Grey Manual back to stock for another couple of years of enjoyment.

You do right Chris! A good friend of mine called Mike is currently doing a TM conversion. He wants some temporary flux bands for his car, do you happen to have the plans for yours still? I'm sure he'd be interested.
I guess I would 'consider' a black manual car, if it's easy enough to change to grey? How much would this likely cost? I do like the 81 bonnet without gasflap and the doors with the seperate straps though.

Hi Luke,
my BTTF equipment was all made and fitted by Chris Nicholson, the first set fitted.
The colour change was done with the help of Martin G and Dan Shane, who wanted to change his grey car to black…..so we had bits everywhere some black bits were sprayed grey, seat covers were changed, etc. We had great fun! By the time we were finished the old Black car looked very smart in its new grey colour….no-body seemed to worry about it being an Auto. BTTF car. Its in Gaydon now.
Without the donor car it would have been a much bigger job, but I understand some folk just get the spray paint out…not sure how good it would look though.

Wow, that's some serious... Work ;-)
I think I'll wait for a grey, lol. There's plenty in the UK right now. If you happen to come across any, feel free to drop me a pm. I'm ready to go immediately this time if someone is thinking of moving on.

I wouldn't use the spray dye to change the colour, only to perk up the original. The only time I've done it was with one of the little corner pieces which house the pin switches which was a NLA part which I figured was small enough and not likely to experience any wear.
I no longer do the dye because it was such a slow seller and I couldn't ship overseas as it's an aerosol. Hopefully Claire will now sort out getting it supplied through the club

I was thinking of a full retrim but I bet that costs a fortune, plus it wouldn't look authentic.
Back to grey then!
