Ignoring the idle hunt for now, is it just me or is there an abnormal rattle coming from my engine? I completed a minor service today (Air filter, oil filter ) and afterwards fired her up and can't help but shake the feeling the engine sounds different.
Anyone got any ideas, or am I just plain crazy?

Sounds like mine! Only thing I can think of is the metal plate that sits above the exhaust manifold, connects to the air intake for warm air. This sometimes comes free and rattles.

That's reassuring to hear! I'll check it out over the bank holiday weekend and see if that plate has come loose. Cheers Chris

Couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary at all when compared to my engine...? My car sounds like this all the time, but I think that's down to no.6 cylinder tappet needing adjusting. (According to Martin and Rich).
