BAE Turbo kit

yo, has anyone got info / spec sheets, pics, install instructions for the BAE turbo kit, or even the legend or island kits?

This should be all you need: Don't do it. It's not a turbo engine and it never was. All of the "kits" are crap and will give you a bit more power for a lot more fuel and seriously limit the life of your engine.

I think it would be easier to drop in a turbo PRV such as the one in the Renault 25.
A least then you would know the internals could take it.

Anyone know if it's possible to drop in the even fire PRV with the 24V head?

At 5lbs of boost? Although admittedly the suck through style on the BAE & Island kits is bad for reliability (although cheaper/easier to implement)

Martin has a point though, if you're very experienced at tearing down / building up / swapping engines, and especially if your engine is already worn, then I don't know why you'd stick with a stock engine. Swapping in a turbo PRV from an old Volvo etc would work better.

the engines done 16k, so should be ok. and if i melt a piston, then, oh well. but around 5-6psi of boost should keep it sensible. I wont be using the car as a daily driver, and i'm not bothered about fuel consumption... my daily does 15mpg, lol.

draw through is the easiest way, but an intercooler can be added to keep the intake temp down. To be honest, i'm more used to carbs, my prefered method would be blow through holley 4 barrel with intercooler. But shal see how the kjet does. I have a wideband reader that i can use to tune it too.

If i was going to put a different engine in, then it would have to be a chevy 350 Smile

Possible, but the throttles have to be relocated otherwise they'd be hitting the occupants in the back of the head, and these engines are a) very fragile and b) very rare, largely due to a). Good for maybe 220hp with a good map and exhaust but can't hold a candle to a modestly tuned standard 2.5 turbo which is more or less bomb proof.

With EFi controlling fuel AND ignition timing, you can probably get away with 5psi. The problem with the suck-through is it assumes stochiometry and with K-Jet being how it is actually means lean for most DeLorean engines. A bad thing with high temperature forced induction.

Turbo PRVs are exclusively Renault Mr Green

It's easy to make any PRV physically fit the DeLorean, it's the effort with making all the ancillaries wrap around it, and making it run (as with EFI for example) which is the problem. For forced induction, how you effectively intercool is another - though the readily available chargecoolers these days solve that.

The instructions for those kits revolve around bolting the things on. The stuff they do for fuelling and ignition is tin-pot at best.
