Good Afternoon
Not long to go before our first show of the season at Old Warden Aerodrome on 31st March. (Details attached)
The show is being held on the aerodrome of the historic and world-famous Shuttleworth Collection of vintage cars, aeroplanes, cycles and steam engines.
Richard Shuttleworth was a wealthy young man who raced Bugatti and Alfa Romeo cars in the 1930’s, he won the Donington Grand Prix in 1935 but after a serious crash took up flying, saying it was ‘safer’. He built up a sizeable collection of cars and aeroplanes and at the age of just 24 flew a tiny monoplane to India and twice competed in the famous King’s Cup Air Race. Tragically, Richard was killed in a flying accident in 1940 but his legacy lives on in the magnificent Shuttleworth Collection that thrills and entertains visitors to this day. All pre-booked entrants to the Classic Rally will be able to purchase discounted tickets to the Collection at £8 per person instead of the usual £12.
If you would like to join us as either a club or individual exhibitor there is a small charge of £3 per vehicle which entitles up to 4 people entrance to the show and entitles you to discounted entrance to visit the Shuttleworth Collection on the day. All pre-booked exhibitors are also entered into a free prize draw to win a place on this year’s London to Brighton Classic or Kit & Sports Car Run on 2nd June. See www.classicmotorevents.co.uk for further information
Entry forms are downloadable from our website www.classicmotorshows.co.uk for this and all of our 2013 shows.
