Knebworth Show, 26th & 27th August 2012
#1
Press Release from: GREENWOOD EXHIBITIONS

Release Date: 30th July 2012

FAMILY FUN AT KNEBWORTH CLASSIC CAR SHOW ON BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

There’s only one place for car enthusiasts and their families to be on August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday (26th and 27th August) and that’s Knebworth Park near Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The annual Knebworth Classic Motor Show is taking place on both days at this superb venue where there is so much for all to enjoy.

This car show is a hugely popular fixture on the calendar and Sunday sees a wide variety of vehicle clubs competing for a cash prize for the best club stand following the theme of ‘British Summers’. All clubs are invited to join in the fun, including those catering for newer vehicles.

Monday is when things get just a little more serious. Professional judges will be on site and cars arriving before 11am will be entered into a Concours d’Elegance Competition to win a new, exclusively-designed award. During the morning there will be a cavalcade entrance of cars from the local Letchworth Classic & Vintage Car club.

This major show is being run under the new management at Greenwood Exhibitions. Steve Smith, event director, said: ‘We are ringing the changes and freshening up the whole event. There’s a better layout to the showground and a new commentator will be leading the entertainment throughout the day, including live Top Trumps in the arena.’

‘There’s also a children’s colouring competition to win Greenwood Exhibitions’ London to Brighton mascot ‘Bruno Bear’ and if children bring their own Teddy along they get a free goody bag. Autojumble and trade stands will be in attendance along with the K’Nex funfair, raising money on both days for Great Ormond Street hospital.’

Club camping is available on site on Sunday night or entrants can enjoy a discounted stay at the nearby Novotel by quoting ‘Classic Motor Show’ when making their reservation.

Set in 250 acres of rolling countryside just off the A1 motorway, Knebworth offers a great range of entertainment and interest for all the family including the historic house and gardens, adventure playground with play fort, swings and slides, dinosaur trail and miniature railway. Classic vehicle entrants who book before 12th August pay £3 per qualifying vehicle per day and this gives access to Knebworth Gardens for 2 adults and 2 children and to Knebworth Fort, Sculpture Gardens, and a train ride ticket. Entries close on August 12th. Full details and entry forms are at: www. classicmotorevents.co.uk.
Public entry on each day is £8 per person. Gates open at 10am.
