It certainly had the consistency of tar, and yes, all this black goo exploded out from inside the coil at some point before i bought the car. I thought it might have been some sort of insulating stuff, but then when I sent this picture to Stunned_Monkey to ask him about it, he said "STOP DRIVING THE CAR......STOP DRIVING IT RIGHT NOW!!!!...The coil has exploded and could catch fire! .....I can sell you a replacement ;-) " )

Aye, Martin's a star, got to credit him for some of the parts and help i've received over the years for keeping LEX safe, and on the road. It's good to have friends in the know, and willing to help out for common interests in keeping the cars mobile, and allow us all to continue to enjoy them as they were meant to be.
