So I noticed today that the door lock barrel can be opened with any bloody key, realizing that obviously a car thief will find a way in no matter what. I was alarmed to say the least.
I need to get replacement locks asap thinks I
So once again I clog up this forum with my questions.
FIRST:Is this a defective lock?
SECOND: Or just the way the old style locks work?
THIRD: Can i get better ones without a lot of hassle?
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: why does milk take the colour out of coco pops but water doesn't??..
Dargan out!

Hi Mike - with #814 I assume you're still using the 2-key system with the crap door locks?
I have a pile of later style lock sets, all with a polished silver surround (Rissy can comment on their appearance as I fitted a set to Lex ages ago - the driver's door lock never worked on the original). £25 delivered. Any locksmith will be able to re-key it to match your ignition key but they come with 2 new non-DMC keys anyway. You will need to invest in two of these to fit them.

Austin Metro door locks are the same. Infact these ones have a black surround so look identical to the Delorean ones.
£7.50 on ebay. There called Z Locks and lots of austin and rover cars used them.

The Z locks are not the same as original DeLorean locks, the black is just the silver surround painted and I have them in matched pairs unlike those on ebay.
