Seatbelt dash alarm
#16
Had a look. Pulled the carpet away and revealed the wire and managed to follow it towards the underneath of the tray at the rear of the console where i could then pull out the plug (only just) and confirm that the two ends of the plug are indeed connected.....my hand is now bleeding! lol!

...so that answers that question?

Probably if the buzzer is stuck on it's faulty, since the short delay which isn't working on yours is internal to the buzzer...

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

the buzzer isn't permanently on, cause it doesn't come on until i actually turn on the ignition, even though it needs a full retraction of the key again before it stops again.

could be the answer though. shrug.

It will keep on til the key comes out because one of its functions is to stop yu leaving the key in the ignition. Pointless, eh.

The PO of my car had a great idea to "try" stop the buzzing - he cut the cable at the seatbelt. When I was at DMCH I bought a new buzzer (logic) box and seatbelt unit and they showed me where it plugs in behind the drivers seat.

But it is totally pointless piece of kit.

Do our lights have buzzer reminders?
If not, could this buzzer be wired for that?
How?

That's a job which got done to my car last year.

My buzzer box has been re appropriated for two functions.

1. Seatbelt warning light on dash until seatbelt closed over (with ACC position active on the key)
2. "You've left your headlights on!" Warning buzzer if the lights are on but the ignition is off, and the door is opened.

I made a video for YouTube:

No, the lights don't have a buzzer on them.

But I believe some folks in the US have modified theirs to buzz if the lights are left on when the ignition is off.

Edit - And UK owners too it would seem Smile

That looks perfect Rissy, did you do a pic-story board of job by chance?
I'm feeling abit better this week & I'll be having alook at some of the jobs that need doing on mine. Removing bits of trim etc, be nice to sort something that useful while I have access.

In my old VW world, its quite common for forums to have a Wiki section, a section dedicated to where owners post, simply as possible, pics/stories/how-to's of little jobs they do to help others. No discussions/chat. Would that be a good idea?
