chat room option

hi all i just wondered why there isn't like a chat room aswel as the topic pages on here.some nights you go on the forum and you count 7,8,9 pepole on here would be nice just to chat to pepole directly rather that answer questions that may have been asked hours before.just a thought thats all.would anyone use it?????

I did put one on when I was forum admin, but it was hardly used.
It was a faff to add it on but it was free (club funds and all that)

Ask the current admin as there may be a better one around these days.

If enough people want it again I don't see why an option like this couldn't be implemented, as long as the add on was free or very low cost.
This would be up to the people now in charge.

If Claire is happy with it I am, but as Nick mentioned it had a very low uptake last time. perhaps best of sticking with MSN!

in the VODC, we've set up a 'Facebook' group, but its not as busy as the
regular forum tbh, and its yet another thing to log on to.

There has been discussions about the costs of webhosting and forum
hosting to the club, and we are looking into ways of reducing these costs
where possible, without affecting the smooth running of things, especially
the forum itself.

My thanks go to everyone behind the scenes who works to keep the wheels
turning online so to speak

It can be done, There are a few PHP based chat addons we could use.

Another thing I was thinking about was a Technical WIKI. Anyone have any idea on that ?
