DeLorean in an auction 3rd April,
#1
Hi
I have been forwarded these details and asked to bring them to your attention, mainly no doubt to raise the auction price, but may well be of benefit to any one looking to purchase a car soon Smile
Chris

The Classic Auction Company is pleased to announce that it will be offering a DeLorean DMC-12 for sale at its auction of Classic Cars and automobilia on the 3rd April at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern. The car is a rare survivor of the 8531 cars built between 1981 and 1983 at the Controversial Northern Ireland factory, it is said to have travelled only 13,000 miles in its’ lifetime but it is not known if any of that was time travel! With a guide price of £15,000-18,000 it might just be a bargain for a bit of British and Hollywood history.
Also in the sale is another rare piece of British motoring history, this time from Scotland in the late 1970s’, it is what is believed to be the only registered example of the ill fated Argyll motor factory, a 1978 Argyll GT Turbo. Records show that only 5 or 6 of these hand built sports cars were produced, and this example is the only known example to have been registered with the DVLC, making it unique. Another relative bargain at £12,000-16,000, and one of many exciting entries in the sale.
Other cars on offer include a 1974 Lotus Elite 2 litre with desirable number plate, a 1964 Mk2 Jensen CV8, a 1966 Gilbern GT, a 1973 Triumph Stag Sports, a 1973 Triumph Dolomite Sprint and other classic and prestige marques.

Further details can be found at www.theclassicauctioncompany.com or call 01684 562213.

The headliners will be back in the car when it's sold, and the front fog lights are easily removable with no traces......

What did the Malvern one go for?

I was bidding on the American one . It had 14,000 miles on it and was a grey, manual. I gave up at $20k. It ended up going for $21,500 which was close to my limit but when I bid the other person bettered it straight away. This fee with 13% commission for auctioneer and shipping made it a tad expensive. Shame to leave it though.
