Sale of DGS 803X
#1
Hi there chaps.

I have decided to begin the process of selling DGS 803X to make way for my next dream car purchase (please don't burn me at the stake!!) – unfortunately space, time and funds means that I wont be able to justify keeping both cars.

I am not in any particular hurry and so am willing to hold out for a good home.

Does anyone know of anyone after a top notch DeLorean (1981, grey, manual, c.20k miles, rebrushed etc. etc.)

I will put a proper advert up, but just enquiring early stage. I will of course throw in the Dukes of Hazard horns for free.

Also, how can I put pictures up on this site. I have an awesome shot of "DGS" hassling the Aston Martin DBS from last night's Top Gear on the French roads.

It sounds just like the car I'm after! Probably out of my price range though Sad

You need to upload pics to a website like photobucket or similar.

Following the advice of the good chaps at PJGrady, I should be asking £17.5k ish.

Its a cracking car and has been as very reliable.

I've just opened a photobucket account so will post a pic in main section.

It is a very nice car - and it's been well looked after, both before Jon bought her - and during Jon's ownership.

All trivial problems on the car have been adressed - and Jon has treated her very well indeed.

We've certainly no problem vouching for the quality of this car.

It was imported into the UK in 1990 - presumably by Mr. Bourne. Was then owned by Dave Woodyard and re-registered MXI 1981, but reverted back to DGS 803X when I bought it in November 2006.

The car was imported by a guy up in Norfolk and was in a bad way, it had been stolen and also the guy who imported managed to upset the shipping company who did not treat it too well. It had sat in a barn for a few years before Mark brought it and restored it.

Mark had to put it though an SVA test to get the car registered.

This car is categorically NOT REGISTERED AS A STOLEN RECOVERED.

I expect the above post to be deleted or I will need to speak to a lawyer.

Calm down dear!!!

"WITHOUT PREJUDICE"

The car was in a scrapyard in Seattle (Renton Auto Wreckers) and thats
where the guy who imported it bought it from.

Chris is right, the car (if you can call it that, as at the time it was a basket
case anyway) was mistreated by the "shipping company agents" - they
basically took revenge on the car you could say.

It took Mark several years to sort the car out, and having used it for
about 3 or 4 years, he sold it to Dave (my ex) to purchase a
RHD DeLorean.

The car is not registered as Stolen/Recovered in the UK, and Dave and I
got a Carfax report from the USA (did he give it to you Jonathan?) which
showed the car as having clear title.

The car now, is possibly better then it ever has been, I knew the car
very well, and am happy to vouch for what a good car it was when I
knew it.

I trust this clarifies matters.

Many thanks Claire.

Yes I can provide the Carfax report to any potential purchaser and I am happy for the car to undertake any inspection.

I believe the damage by shipping agent was restricted to door and window glass although happy to be corrected - not a pleasant thought to be honest.

However as you say the car has been the subject of restoration. I have been clear in all adverts about work done under Dave's and my ownership.

I just want to be clear that DGS 803X is a completely clean and honest car and is in excellent condition. I am quite happy for anyone to reference the car with PJGrady and have it independantly inspected.

Sorry should have been clearer, All the damage happened in the 1980's in the US. The car had a major restoration under Mark Bourne's ownership and was then, and I'm sure still is a very clean example. Worth all of the current asking price IMHO.

Many thanks for clearing that up Chris, I appreciate it.
