		yeah, I saw that.
wasn't sure whether it'd work on our enigne....
it'd give more high (i guess) to the engine. pluss how would all thr computer's work?
45 BHP extra...hmm.

It would work OK in conjunction with a matching distributor.
You wouldn't need the computers, just the ignition amplifier.
I think you'd have to drill a big hole in the engine cover though.
A nice rolling road session and a carb re-jet will make it work nice.

Damn and blast! I've been looking for something like this for a while now, and when a set finally show up they're for the oddfire engine.......
Oh well, at least it means that any of you bidding eon't have any competition from me.

I don't think it would matter if it was for an even or oddfire engine.
The carb mixes fuel with air due to airflow, not sequentially to the timing of the engine.
The KE-Jetronic fuel injection fuel depending on airflow and is independant of odd/ even fire engine.
The carb uses an independant barrel per cylinder anyway !

I wish it were that simple, but the oddfire engines have differently shaped intake ports to the evenfire engines. Consequently the intake manifolds are not interchangeable.

That might be a little technical issue then !
Does your car have a later engine in or something?

Yes, but it's a Volvo not a DL!

		Oh I see.
Your engine should have more HP with the higher compression pistons and a better balanced engine.
Maybe a nice free flow exhaust system woudld be a good next move.
Love to see your car.

I've got a '88 760GLE with the B280E with 196k miles on it that I've converted to manual (Volvo never made evenfire manuals, so it wasn't a straightforward job!). It has a freeflow exhaust on it already, but with the original manifolds so the next job is to get a set custom made.
Future plans are either triple carbs, ITB's and aftermarket EMS, turbo or supercharger - I've yet to decide which.
It will be on show at the Volvo Owners Club show next Sun (17th) near York and will also be at the Uxbridge Car Show on July 15th and the Volvo Marque Day at Gaydon on Sept 2nd. Alternatively it can be found roaming the streets in Derbyshire........!
There's a thread about it here;
