Looks a lovely car. But the old adage is 'a painted car is worth about 30% less than a regular one".

Depends if you like Red painted cars? I do, but not necessarily on a DeLoreans.

I would agree. That seems to be the consensus within the community but for some reason even painted cars are asking a premium pricetag now.

Question is, is there any panel damage thats being hidden? Or is it a case of the PO having more money than sense?

And does that car phone work?

Who can tell...?....that is the biggest fear...but even if there was no panel damage, removing the paint and re-brushing the stainless is a mammoth task in its-self.

Personally I recon $25k is nearer the mark.

Solid looking project car at $19,950: https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1983...-10364.htm At actually not a bad price for a project, lots to spend on missing parts and looking at it I wonder if it has been or was intended to be a BTTF replica?

My main worry would be the missing air cleaner.....could have let damp and muck in. (that assuming its a non-runner) But solid enough.

This makes me sad.

He is, or was, a local (original) owner to me, in his 70s, had the car for years. Didn't even know he was selling, or how it ended up at BHCC

Certainly makes you wonder how they get so many to sell. I wonder if they just get people making enquiries and they go around to look/value and wave dollar bills at people to get a quick/cheap sale?
