Having fitted the stage two engine I am still awaiting the return of an uprated metering head Etc. How can I slightly enrich the present DeLorean set up to allow smother running? until I have got all the corrrect components. Would it be simply a case of twiddling an adjustment somewhere

its not that easy chris cos of the lambda sensor you need to get rid of it cheers TT

Mike,
Essentially a Delorean engine but with new higher comp pistons from a Volvo, and performans cams. So will be using the fuelling from a B28, when the refurbished metering head comes back (and throttle plate). Along with a Volvo dizzy.
And if it ever stops raining I might be able to get out and finish it. The engine is in now and running (but not very well) seems to be overheating at the mo, needs the timing setting, and also seems to be 'popping' in the fuelling system as in when running there seems to be maybe a bit of back firing in the inlet manifold causing the throttle plate to bounce up and down!! However until I have checked the timing and sorted the other bits and got the correct fuelling I dont know!!!
Suggestions/comments welcome.

Have you tried turning the CO screw located just infront of the metering head, try setting it to 1.5% (if you can get your hands on a CO2 meter, I can bring mine to EuroTec if it helps). Just make a note of where the screw is set(Start point) and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise (i think from memory).
Also try re plumbing the vacuum hoses to the CPR to lower the control pressure. As a test run a vacuum hose from the back of the manifold, use a t piece connect the vac advance on the distributor and connect the acceleration enrichment 'circuit' on the CPR. See if that helps or make it worse,,,try playing with different configurations along that line. Its going to be trial and error
BTW does it run any better when cold?

Start by checking for the good old vaccum leaks and make sure the piping is correct. After I did the head gaskets, 1274 was running dog rough till I found a huge vac pipe I not reconnected :roll:
Get your timing right next
Avoid playing around with the mixture till you are sure everything alse is OK
The mixture screw requires a long 3mm allen key and is behind the intake venturi. It will probably have some sort of bung in the hole if it has been adjusted before - if not, then you will have to drill out the blanking plug. Remember even quarter turn is often too much

Thanks, having spent the morning setting things up timing etc refitting everything it does seem to be running better. I will probably leave things as they are at the mo, until i get the fuelling all sorted ie; the correct parts fitted. At least its all in and running/facia and everything else re-fitted.
