That makes sense, they didn't seem to fit quite right. I will have to try and get the correct one's..if needed

Hi Chris,
I'd be interested to know what the part number is on the brake master cylinder if you're able to access it and take a photo?
Some of the right-handers with the dual servo set-up have a non-standard Girling brake master cylinder and it would be interesting to see if VIN 5730 has one fitted too.

Just had a nice little find on eBay..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183619416253. MGJ on road test with Autocar. Matt had already borrowed some photo's from the original photo-shoot.
Yesterday I was busy flushing the cooling water.....twice ...running the engine up to temp both times, and it held very nicely with fans clicking in and out. I'm now awaiting delivery of some proper coolant/rad flush, and I will then go through the whole thing again before adding anti-freeze. Not had chance to look at the brakes again yet.
Ive noticed a rusting pipe on my gearbox oil cooler....dripping transmission fluid...another job.

I'm hoping so Stewart, but have not 'seriously' enquired until I have got an MOT in my hands.
It only had the AXI 1699 number on it, whilst at the Factory and for about 2 years in total......but has been MGJ 126Y for the last 36 years!
I'm not 100% sure which number would best on the car! Any Ideas folks?

Seeing as Nigel's now has it's AXI plate, and it is the third of three, 1699 would be the way to go in my mind!

Many happy returns Chris, here's to many more :-)
Means you're almost exactly 30 years older than me, as I have just started being defined by a '4' rather than a '3'!!
