I know its only October, but the C word will be upon us before we know it...…
I'm thinking ahead to our annual get together in the East Midlands, and where to go, do
folks fancy a return visit to the 50's American Diner near Swadlincote in Derbyshire?
Don't think that this event is for us Midlanders only, everyone is welcome, Ben from South
Wales often makes the long journey up to join us, so the more the merrier!
Its handy for the A50/A38/M1 and I know it was a popular venue when we visited for our
Xmas meet up in 2011 (yes it really was 7 years ago!).
Can folks have a think about what dates would be suitable and if they fancy meeting here
so that I can get it booked? I probably cant do the weekend of 8/9th December as there is
a family birthday then, but maybe we could do the weekend of 1st/2nd or 15th/16th?

Hi Claire, sounds like a nice idea, I'll try to make it this time.
Don't plan it around me, as my attendence is shaky as usual, but I think I'm available except for the w/e 15th/ 16th Dec.

We could probably make the 8th Dec right now. 1st is off due to a party and the 15th is off for me due to a birthday doo, and i'll be in Edinburgh by the 22nd (too close to Xmas i suspect for most anyway).

We might be able to do the 8th, Phill's grandson's birthday is that week and there is normally a family get together around that weekend, although usually on the Sunday, so the 8th may be doable.
How does the 8th fit in with other people?

OK!! We're booked in!
I spoke to Trish at the 50's American Diner this morning, and we're booked in for 1pm on Saturday 8th December.
Can I have a show of hands please, so that I can give her definite numbers - I've said there should be around 12-15 of us, but I'd let her know exact numbers as soon as I had them.

ok, so we've got so far:
Me, Phill, Kez n Gwen
Rissy, Leanne and Tom
Andy Westerman
Rich Hutchinson
Steve Pellegrini (poss)
Ben Lee Matthews and Rachel (work permitting)
Chris Williams (poss)
Mike and Mary Hooper (poss)
Chris Parnham (poss)
And Withers & Binny Louch (poss)
Rich and Roisin Hanlon (+ children?)
William Bollands (poss).
If folks can confirm who are 'poss' by first week in December, then I can give Trish final numbers. Arriving in a DeLorean is optional, as
most of us (who have cars on the road) will have them tucked up for winter by then, but if we could get one or two at least it would be nice.
